If you’re not prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But don’t hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips for a comfortable start to your getaway in Boracay Island. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you’ve got all the right stuff. First things first, you’ll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don’t have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your prime concern when picking what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Roomy, closed-toed shoes work well.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
