"The property is located on a site which includes a hotel and a group of small private homes. None of which is a negative. The area is very quiet, but you definitely need a car. The surrounding area is sensationally beautiful and well worth a visit and we enjoyed our trips out very much. The property itself was disappointing. "PROS: Lovely staff and very good food. Stable block room was clean. Bed very comfortable and all linens excellent. Hot water plentiful. Iron and board was a bonus. Quick response to noise disturbance from cretin in next room. Otherwise is quiet. Free parking. Easy walking distance to town centre. CONS: Room was very tired with elderly furniture. Wifi not good. Frequent buffering and kept going off. No mirror for drying hair near socket. No phone in room, which would have been helpful when dealing with said cretin. There was a card showing a number for reception but didn't see it in the dark. Got a useless bot when I rang the main number. Despite the above, we would stay again."

"We received a warm welcome when we arrived. All the staff we met were friendly. The breakfast was very good. We were pre-warned about the closure of the spa - not that we were going to have any time to use it. It was a good place to stay so we could attend a family wedding at Mapperton House. Plenty of room for parking."

"We stayed for three nights in a family room for three. The room is specious and clean. We have a dog with us and Kings Arms is 100% dog friendly. We stayed in a room quite close to some cooling system which was required to keep turned on to keep the beer cold (I think) but it produced a constant mechanically nose which became very noticeable in the evening. I asked for a change of room but unfortunately there was not a double room available. As a compromise the owner arranged to turn off the system when the pub closed in the evening until early in the morning. This worked fine for us and we have a lovely stay overall. The continental breakfast was simple but ample. If I am in the area, I will stay there again but will ask for a room not so close to the cooling system!"

"We really loved our stay at The Bull. I’ve been to many Fuller’s pubs in the past but never stayed in one of their hotels and after this great experience I will seek out other sites they run. The Bull was a character filled old building, renovated to a beautiful standard - impeccably clean, absolutely loved the décor too. Breakfast was really big and also full of quality ingredients. Great quality sheets and I love Bramley bath products. Staff very friendly. We stayed in the suite which was HUGE and really comfy, great value for such a nice property. Oh also they gave us a free drink at the pub downstairs since we were staying over, really nice touch! And free parking always helps. Hope to return sometime."

"Staff were friendly and approachable, nothing to much trouble. Room was spacious but with a small on suite. On are stay weather was lovely, which made room very hot at night even with a fan. Breakfast had a good buffet selection of hot and cold items. Cooked breakfast was lovely. Free parking available, small car park, but we had no issues in parking during are stay."
