"I’m not one for negativity but I am one for honesty so here we go…
I booked this room because of the price but also because it advertised that there was a shuttle service that brought residents to downtown Charleston, which was amazing as I wouldn’t have to worry about ride sharing or renting a car.
When we arrived, we were informed that there is no longer a shuttle service and that it’s because of new management?
There are 2 buildings for the hotel, the main one and then a motel-like structure to the side which is where we were in. Of course, with my luck, we were put right next to the freeway and the dumpster. Both brought individual challenges of their own like the constant sound of traffic or the obnoxiously loud truck that changed the dumpster at about 6:00am every other morning.
When we got into the room, our door wouldn’t shut. After slamming it a time or two, it finally shut but there was a slit of opening all around it. So although it was shut, it was not completely shut as you can pass notes in between it, or even better, things could slither their way in.
When I received a generated text from La Quinta asking if we need anything the day we checked in, I mentioned the door concern but never heard back so I made sure the next morning I went to let them know. A man fixed the side of the door but not the top and bottom.
Overall, not the greatest- respectfully. Not enough space to talk about breakfast cause Jesus take the wheel on that! Good lord."
