"The overall stay was not as good as my other stays at this hotel, as the hotel was under renovations, was not aware when i booked.The spa was nice still, but as it was a break to recuperate after some broken ribs, the room opposite was been renovated and the noise was loud from corridor and drilling outside my window,this was not restful, didnt complain as i have been many times, just wished i was notified could off made my decision, or when checking in they could of said works was been done on the oppersite side of me The staff were all good, spa was good, and food was ok, no relaxing areas to sit in as works were happing apart from the cold area near the entrance, I was told once the works are done it will be a good hotel to stay in lets hope so, as it kind of spoilt my two days of rest. I would ask next time if any works are been done when booking next time, the reception manager was kind and said when booking again to call him and he would arrange a beter stay."

"It was a quick business trip, so no time to use the facilities. The room was indeed snug but perfectly adequate for one night. The lighting is very low, so difficult to put make up on etc. great iron, hairdryer etc. The main issue was the bathroom, which smelt mouldy, which was very disappointing. "

"Communication seems to lack especially with guest requests. Good sent back as it was cold but they did replace with no fuss and lots of apologies. Usually good this time not as good! "

"Our room was clean and welcoming. We knew having stayed here before what to expect. The guy on reception was very friendly and helpful, supplying us with extra pillows. Our Jack Russell settled in quickly and there were grassy areas to walk her. Everything went well during our stay. The only thing I would suggest is more plugs in the room. "

"We had a really lovely stay here and the experience was excellent from the moment we arrived. After driving for around four hours we were quite tired, but the welcome we received immediately lifted our spirits. The staff were fantastic, and the gentleman who I assume was the manager, a Scandinavian chap, was especially friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was extremely busy when we arrived, but he still managed to find us a table which we really appreciated after such a long journey. The room itself was fantastic. It was very spacious and comfortable, perfect for our family. The kids had their own separate room which worked really well, and the bathroom had both a separate shower and bath. There were also chocolates on the pillows which the kids absolutely loved. Dinner had a great home-cooked feel, exactly what you want from a good pub restaurant. Breakfast the next morning was equally good. We arrived a little early but the continental breakfast was ready with fresh fruit and juice, and the cooked breakfast menu had a great choice. Again, a really friendly chatty chap from Cornwall was waiting on us, just really made us feel at home and relaxed. Overall a fantastic stay with genuinely friendly staff, great food and a really comfortable room. We would happily stay again."

"I really enjoyed staying here, the room was absolutely full of character with a view of the green and the grand homes of a picturesque village. The owner is charming and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable. Its a very traditional setting and environment, and well worth a visit "

"Staff were very friendly. Room was clean. A few snags one main light wasn’t working and the tv didn’t work. WiFi was not the best which meant I couldn’t do any work but other than that it was fine. "

"The room was cool and the bed comfortable. Nice towels It’s more basic than a Travel Lodge, loud plumbing, slightly loose light fittings, no reading light switch separate to the over head light. Paper thin walls. Breakfast was good, staff friendly and ambience warm. "
