"The mattress was extremely soft and uncomfortable. The room was old and shabby and the tub had standing water in it when we checked in. When we requested extra bedding they asked us to come pick it up at the front desk rather than deliver it.
Breakfast the next morning was good, hot and had a nice variety."
"I have stayed at Western Holiday Lodge in Three Rivers in the past without incident and found it to be a mediocre stay. However, that time I did not need to interact with the staff. This time, we arrived a day early and wanted to add an additional night to our stay. It took a very long time for them to check us in and regardless of us being there two nights, they set up our key cards to lock us out of our rooms on the morning of the second day. Even after explaining the situation, they made one of us leave our room entirely while they cleaned it, which was what we were trying to avoid by booking two nights at the same hotel. Upon our departure we forgot something and they left it outside where anyone could have taken it, rather than keeping it in the office as we requested. It was also like pulling teeth to get a receipt for the stay. It's a pretty mediocre place to begin with but the staff make it far worse."
"Even though their bridge was still out and the drive in was an adventure, the lodge was a nice change of pace. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. All meals were included and amazing! They made sure to provide labeling and alternatives for people with food allergies. As a mom and grandma of boys with allergies, this was great to see.
We did not take advantage of the daily activities, as we explored the park, but were impressed by the offerings. If we returned to Sequoia National Park, we would stay there again."
"ANTS!! There were ants everywhere including our bed. When we told housekeeping, they told us some of the other rooms were having the same issue. The blankets also smelled like mildew. There is no fridge or microwave in the room. They have a communal kitchen for an added fee. The somewhat of a silver lining is their cafe which was okay..a bit overpriced for what it was though. The staff in the restaurant were sweet. I unfortunately will not be returning."
"It’s building still under construction! No amenities. Room had a terrible smell. Bathroom was horrible. There is no way you can take shower. It’s insanely expensive without any amenities."
"There were wasps in my cabin and no one was at the front desk. There were 4 dead wasps on the floor and two alive. There was also no bath house? The one that was associated to our cabin 6 was under construction I guess so there was no toilets in the stalls for women "
"This hotel had average rooms. The lobby was very nice and had games and hot beverages, which we enjoyed. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Kings Canyon."
