"This was booked for a work colleague, but she immediately checked out after arriving due to the cleanliness of the apartment and feeling unsafe in the area outside the apartment."
"We received no check-in information until just before our booking, after driving hours to an unfamiliar city. The phone number provided by Expedia was disconnected, the email bounced back as invalid, and the WhatsApp linked to the number was for a random trading account with an AI-generated photo. We left multiple texts, WhatsApps, and even tried calling through WhatsApp several times, yet we never received a single reply or any contact from the host. And still haven’t had anything!
When we turned to Expedia for help, they told us that because the small print said check-in was before 2pm, a refund might not be possible. That is absurd. The issue wasn’t check-in time, the issue was that all the host’s details were fake, making check-in completely impossible.
We were left stranded, driving around until past midnight, before finally finding a Travelodge that had a spare room, costing us much more. On top of that, we’d already paid £70 for parking. But because the fake details were sent too late, it was past the cancellation period, and that money was lost too.
This was a nightmare experience: stressful, costly, and completely unacceptable. DO NOT book with this host under any circumstances.
The listing is a scam, the contact details are fraudulent, and you will be left stranded just as we were. Expedia should be ashamed for allowing this and failing to protect customers"
