The resort itself is beautiful, with a comfortable bed &lovely pool area. There were some initial concerns around customer service. Eg: when asking for a taxi to be arranged for dinner, we were simply directed to a display of local taxi cards. A more proactive response, such as offering to arrange this on our behalf, would have been appreciated. The room was generally clean, though there were a few frustrations. The heating and air conditioning are centrally controlled, which proved inconvenient. Although we were told control would be released to the room following a call to reception, this reverted back to central control very quickly. There was no fridge in the room on arrival, despite a designated space for one. We requested a fridge, staff warned one might not be available, it was delivered promptly. It worked well, though it was not particularly clean. Before dinner, we visited the bar and ordered two cocktails, which were pre-mixed and very poor. We then opted for champagne, which was initially flat. However, the barman was extremely helpful and promptly opened a fresh bottle for us, Breakfast the following morning was excellent overall. The food was hot, fresh and plentiful, and the breakfast staff worked exceptionally hard. The only downside was that white bread ran out despite there being nearly an hour and a half of service remaining.While there were no amenity kits provided in the bathroom, the toiletries themselves were very good. Booked the vale and ended up at the Hensel Castle which I thought was an upgrade as the room size and standard was incredible. However all the facilities including spa, bar and restaurant were back at the Vale so they put on a mini bus. It’s not the end of the world but would have preferred more facilities locally. Ate in the restaurant and I wasn’t blown away by the choice. Everything with chips pretty much. Steaks were expensive and no option fo a pie or curry for example.

We stayed in one of the balcony rooms and the room was legit the best room we have stayed in the UK. The bed was a dream, super duper huge and the view from the balcony was magnificent. Their breakfast spread was delicious, the only downside of the stay were the cocktails from the Vale bar, I think they could do better with that. Apart from that, it was a 5/5.

Clean large room, friendly staff, excellent pool facilities. The pool & jacuzzi & sauna & steam room are lovely and can be used by hotel guests, not just spa guests. The pool is a lovely warm temperature. I had a spa treatment & thoroughly enjoyed it. The posh restaurant is the breakfast restaurant & very overpriced, especially for meat. The cheaper restaurant is just outside it, it’s a sports bar with TVs everywhere. Breakfast was sensationally good, great selection, food superbly well cooked & supply maintained. Both crispy streaky bacon & pink back bacon available. Definitely a highlight for us.

Hotel is a wow ! Food was below quality compared to the surroundings. My evening meal was a chicken burger which was overcooked. I was looking forward to a really nice breakfast but the bacon was really dry, the muffins were very stale, hash browns were over cooked, coffee was poor. Shame as the I said the hotel is a huge wow factor.

Staff efficient and friendly, hotel set in lovely grounds as pictures show. Spa was exceptional. Little things, like the room couldn't open a window as it was well above a metre or more than head height, walls and carpets showing wear and considering the resort, carpets on hallways and stairs not the best compared to remainder of property spoil it a bit.
