"Staff is very welcoming and nice. However our room wasn’t that clean to begin with. The bed mattresses were very old and uncomfortable to sleep on. Our room was only cleaned once and the restroom was dusty and full of spiders. The curtains looked very dirty throughout the room. The shower looked filthy and gross. "If you want a quaint, authentic Costa Rican stay, this place is for you. I feel the poor reviews come from people expecting a luxury resott despite paying less than half the price. The rooms were clean, the staff was kind and helpful, and we saw so many different animals right at thr hotel. We saw scarlet macaws, squirrel monkeys, agouti, and iguanas daily, some up close. Howler monkeys visited on 2 of our 8 days. It was a perfect experience."
