"This hotel was perfect. The bed was so comfy and the balcony views were awesome. The breakfast had a huge variety of items to choose from and the quality was 5 star. It was in a perfect location if you don't have a car. Everything in walking distance. Only negative was wifi a bit slow. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. "

I was traveling alone and they helped plan my days by giving me places to visit and food options while there My luggage didn’t arrive for 3 days and they told me where to go for clothing as well as called the airlines for updates. The restaurant had no problems with me desiring to eat in my room instead of the establishment. Will stay there again on return "

"This was our second stay at this hotel. We both agreed that in the nine years since our first visit the hotel did not lose its touch. Everything looked solid and classy. I don't know if they had any renovations but nothing looked tired. The staff were amazing, all very helpful and friendly and always around. We did a lot of hiking every day so we took full advantage of the geothermal pool and the sauna and indoor pool in the spa. The park is very beautiful and we did have several walks there too. The room was very adequate. We used the minibar as a fridge and it was one of the best small fridges. The bed was very comfortable and we had very restful sleep every night. Breakfast was amazing - so much variety and everything so fresh and natural! The staff are vigilant and very responsive to your needs even when not explicitly expressed. I especially liked fresh young cheese and multigrain buns. We also had dinner at their restaurant once. It was an excellent meal. We had three meals with tapas at their Gardener bar and enjoyed them very much. One negative point about staying at this hotel is the price of drinks in the bar is outrageous. Cocktails are between 14 and 18 euros, even for a simplest gin and tonic or porto tonico. We had drinks at reasonable prices every day at a 5-star hotel in Madeira and that place was always very busy. I would encourage the food services management at this hotel to do a research and see if lower prices would boost sales and revenue."

"When walking from the nice lobby into the room, I was quite shocked - the rooms are very dated and smell old too. However, on inspection, it was clean (apart from the carpet) and I slept very well."
