Stayed here a few years ago and again in July 25 as a last minute decision. Gone downhill. Bed was lumpy. Carpark not well lit and hole's. Was not advised to register my vehicle which could have resulted in a fibe had i not gone for a walk.

on the whole i enjoyed my stay my evening meal was excellent and the waitresses and bar staff exceptional The room could have been better A really small tv.No shelves in the bathroom or shower to put any toiletries etc.. The switch for the bathroom was on the door as you came in so not ideal in the night if you needed to go to the bathroom The pool was nice although a little cold

Receptionist that checked us in was friendly and professional. The hotel was in the right location for us. Everywhere was clean. The communal areas and leisure have had a refurb recently. There's scaffolding outside so it feels like the are investing in maintaining and improving. Our room was clean but we felt quite basic for the cost. The TV was really small, the sockets were across the room not bedside (not ideal for my nebuliser) The lights for the bathroom not at the bathroom door but across the room. No Aircon or fan in the room. We were out an about for the most part but if we had been planning to spend more time in a room, we would have been disappointed.

Chucking in with very helpful and pleasant reception was excellent. Mobility room was not what we booked and had a very hard double bed with 2 better singles. No body lotion just a squirty container of antceptic smelling all purpose soap. Dinner because we were with a group was served in the furthest room from the kitchen and food was very low quality. Breakfast again we were allocated the room furthest from the servery, which meant cold food by the time we were eating it, a Woe betide if you had forgotten anything. The pool was clean and another welcoming pleasant staff member sorted towels etc. On the whole, some excellent willing staff were let down by tired /dated rooms and cheapscape food.

We stayed at this lovely hotel in April. We had 2 small labs with us. We could not take them into the bar or restaurant, but that was NOT a problem. The team were wonderful with us and our dogs. They went above and beyond for us. They made us up a beautiful table in the library and served us drinks, breakfast & a wonderful dinner there along with our labs. The service, food and hotel were lovely. It made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you guys

Slighly faded glory old character hotel. Some money has been spent on communal areas and the swimming pool and spa are decent. Would rather stay here than the chain hotel options.
