We attended a National Postage Stamp Convention there in the CHI Health Center Convention Center. All but one restaurant were a pretty fair walk away from the Convention Center however. Food at the Convention Center was substantially undersatisfying and overly priced.
If you attend any meeting in the convention center, wear comfortable shoes. Like similar meeting halls, always a lot of walking.
We went to the Warren Buffett annual stockholders convention. Got the convention center and at security they made me walk 3/8 mile back to my car to leave my pocket knife, which I have carried since I was age 6. Then we got in the exhibits, and there was Pampered Chef selling paring knives with longer and sharper blades than my pocket knife. Go figure. There was nothing in the advanced literature about no pocket knives. Mine might cut butter on a warm day.
The hotel offers a free shuttle so we took that ride to go to a concert. The shuttle stops running at 10 PM, but it's a 7-8 block walk back and even in the cold it was easy to navigate.
If you’re going to a concert, it’s a short easy walk. Go early, it took a while to get in and find our seats. Very nice venue!
