Administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, it encompasses 512.9 acres, and began interments in 1988. My wife's grandfather is buried in the cemetery and we stopped by there on the way back from one of our trips to Key West.

We attended a memorial service at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. It was very special and the grounds were beautiful. The personnel there were very accommodating and honoring.

The area I stayed was clean and pleasant enough, but not much in the immediate vicinity. A Walmart, a few gas stations, and 5 fast food places (I believe it was) and lined the road across the street. I was there for a funeral though so didn't get to
