OK!
The hotel is fare in price/comfort. It is a modest hotel, but is located close (15-20 min walk) to a very good bus/tram station, with connections to every major touristic attractions in the city. Rooms are clean, but could be cleaner. Breakfast is good. Parking is free, which was great for me!

Great Place to Stay!
Had a great room with 2 balconeis over looking Budapest .. very nice view.. also at night.. I would recommend this hotel and has parking for drivers. I liked this hotel I would stay there again!

Beautiful views of Budapest from the hotel as it's on a hill. We hired a car so it was easy for us to get about. I think it would probably be about a 20 minute walk to the nearest tram stop so not great for people with mobility issues. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is good although at €6pp per day I thought was a bit steep as it added up to an extra €126 for our weeks stay. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Overall this is a great no frills hotel if you are just looking for a place to rest your head and enjoy gorgeous views from the restaurant terrace.

They gave us the best room in the house....
Ours room had a beautiful balcony with southern views; besides a bedroom it had a small room with a couch and small refrigerator. Nothing fancy, a modest boutique hotel, but friendly staff, quiet location in a neighborhood of Buda near open space and away from the crowds of the touristy areas. Plenty of parking in a safe area of town, breakfast can be purchased for 6 Euros which included scrambled eggs, cold cuts, breads, juice, paprika,cheeses, jams and cappuccinos... this place once thrived more with a full-time restaurants, but now only offers breakfast or caters for special events. It has a nice dining area with a balcony and views south. It has conference rooms, so it could handle larger groups but does not appear to market itself to them. Guests were from Europe and Hungary.

Lovely Buda Site
Enjoyed this Buda site. The view was great. The breakfast wonderful. The staff exceptionally helpful. The pillows were lumpy, terrible for comfort.

Good price. Nice stay. Helpful staff: can recommend food nearby and borrow kettle to you. Separate rooms inside. Have bathtub and hot water. Warm in room: stay comfy in winter.

Dissatisfied.
Hotel is quite old, but it was not the reason to set such a small marks. Rooms were not clean - spiderweb everywhere, lipstick on the bedside table, absence of noise insulation (you will hear everybody in corridor and neighbor rooms.

Superb value hotel for family stay - recommended!!
Disclosure: we are staying at the Budai Hotel regularly as they have an unbeatable superb offer for families. We stay in the family suite (great value for money) - the children have their own bedroom, we have ours, there is a bathroom with a bath and an additional separate toilet. The rooms have an amazing view of the Budapest panorama (it is on a hill); the hotel is located in a very quiet neighborhood, so no noises at night. The staff are very nice, the hotel manager is very friendly, the rooms are clean & tidy. It is not a modern hotel, but perfectly adequate. We come by car - it is easy to park outside. It is also easily accessible by public transport - 10 mins walk to the nearest tram (it is the beginning/end of trams so easy to get on/off) with interconnecting metro, there are also direct buses to the centre eg to Keleti railway station. The breakfast is usually not included in price - I highly recommend it; it is a very good buffet breakfast with really varied choice, including individually ordered strong coffee and fresh fruit. We will definitely continue to stay at this hotel whenever we are in Budapest.

Lovely big room with great balcony
We had the room with the big balcony. Really big room with separate lounge, big bathroom and separate hallway. Need a car to get to the shops or tourist things, but perfect spot high on the hill overlooking Budapest - great views. No English channels at all on the TV - so we couldn't watch TV. If there was a fridge and kettle provided, it would be lovely to spend a week in the serenity of this place. No shops anywhere nearby, but we just drove to Budapest (about 8 km) to buy our meals - the restaurant normally opens for night meals - but not when we were there because they werre catering for a wedding. This is where it would be good to have fridge and kettle - we could then be self sufficient. Great to have a lift, as we were on the 3rd floor, so that made it so much easier, as we had a lot of heavy bags.

I am glad to notify you that since your visit, we improved our TV service - we bought brand new flat-screen TVs in the beginning of 2015, and now we also offer English channels. We also bought brand new refrigerators into each room (1 per room), which are completely noiseless, and their capacity is 40 l. You can also use a kettle for free in the restaurant area. Now there is a tobacco and grocery store 900 m away from the hotel, you can reach it by car in 2 minutes. Lift is still working. Please visit us again and enjoy the improved service - the kettle, refrigerator and new TVs with English channels!

Odore di umido dal bagno vomitevole
Ci hanno relegato in un sotto tetto a prima vista carino, peccato che dal bagno usciva un odore di umido vomitevole. La finestra rotta ci ha impedito di togliere la puzza quindi lascio immaginare. Da un giorno all'altro non ci hanno rifatto le camere.

개미들이 나오는 호텔
객실 바닥과 화장실에 개미들이 우글거리고 객실에 퀘퀘한 냄새가 납니다. 객실에 에어컨이 없어서 창문을 열어야하는데 방충망이 없어서 벌레들이 들어옵니다. 직원들은 친절하지만 시설이 워낙 좋지 않아서 불만족스럽네요.

A nappali 40 fokos hőmérséklet, éjszaka sem csökkent elviselhető szintűre. Mivel máskor is volt már meleg, ennek elviselhetővé tételéhez gondos szállásadók, légkondícionáló berendezéseket telepítettek. Ennek hiányáról, szerintem tájékoztatni kellene a vendégeket. A szállás megtalálásához, semmiféle tájékoztató táblát sem raktak ki. Az utca több helyen megtörik, az utcanévtáblák nem egyértelműek. A szállás elfoglalása előtt kellett kifizetnem a szállás díját. Velem ilyen az elmúlt 40 évben nem történt, pedig pár szállodában megfordultam.

Kedves Vendégünk! Köszönjük, hogy szállodánkat választották! Légkondíconálót nem ígértünk a szállás leírásában, tehát Önt teljes körűen tájékoztattuk a hotel valós felszereltségéről. De adtunk ventillátort a szobába, valamint ki lehet nyitni az ablakokat, ezáltal jár a szellő a szobában. Néhány környező utcában van tájékoztató tábla, hogy merre van a Budai Hotel, de ennél több táblát nem lehet kihelyezni. A honlapunkon részletesen le van írva, hogyan lehet megtalálni minket, de ha telefonál, el is tudjuk navigálni. Az utcanévtáblák miatt talán nem minket kellene elmarasztalni, hiszen nem mi tettük ki az utcanévtáblákat. Nagyon sok helyen előre kell fizetni a szállásdíjat, nem minden hotelben ugyanazok a szabályok, nálunk előre kell fizetni. Üdvözlettel: Budai Hotel

One word: bugs
The hotel was rather inexpensive and that was the reason why we booked it. It is located far from the center but that we knew. What we did not know was that there are plenty of bugs staying in our room as well. Apart from flies, ants and mosquitos we even saw cockroaches and some other bugs I do even not know the name of. I just hope that we did not get any of them with us home in our bags.

Once again very sorry for this. About the cockroaches: we always check the rooms and we haven't found any, but please note: if you open the windows then cockroaches may enter your room, however our area has little to no cockroaches, so I really don't know why you had them in your room. My guess is that they entered the room when you opened the windows, but once again, it is very unusual. I am sorry, please contact us, next time we can give you a discount. Best Regards, Budai Hotel

Dostal jsem pokoj přímo pod střechou, ten den bylo venku 33stupnu, hotel nemá klimatizaci, na pokoji byl jenom ventilátor. Otresný zážitek. Snídaně za příplatek nic moc, málo jídla, špatný výběr, obsluha nemluvila anglicky. Celkový dojem špatný. Rozhodně nedoporučuji.

Slitet hotell som vann på sin charmighet
Hotellet ligger i utkanten av Budapest. Fantastisk utsikt över staden. Positivt med fri parkering. Bemannad reception dygnet runt. Kom sent (23:30) men var inga problem att checka in. Rummet var slitet. Så rent som ett gammalt slitet rum kan bli. Heltäckningsmatta. Badrummet var i behov av renovering och kanske inte skinande rent badkar. Madrasser som det brukar var i Ungern, dvs stenhård. Frukosten var inte lyxig, men det som behövdes fanns där så som bröd, youghert, ägg och kaffe.

Amazing view and friendly staff
We stayed 4 nights at the Budai hotel. The staff was so very accommodating and helped us in any way they could. The breakfast was lovely and the size of the room was good. The beds were a little hard, but that's the only downside. We were always treated with kindness and that made the whole experience awesome. It's a bit of a walk from the bus and tram, but it's only about 10 minutes of walking. The area is really calm and the view is spectacular. Waking up to that view every morning was a treat. The feel of the hotel is more like a cosy b&b than a big hotel. The rooms were clean and tidy. There is an elevator and a game room.

Hôtels correct mais petit déjeuner pas terrible.
Hôtel correct, mais petit déjeuner très peu fourni et sûrement pas de type continental, rien de chaud et très peu de choix. 12 kms du centre. Justifie ses 3 étoiles mais dommage pour le petit déjeuner.

But since we cook them fresh, you have to ask for it. Sorry for the confusion. Now we printed tables onto each desk which notify the guests that the hot selection is on request.
