Budget means budget
This is a budget hotel, which isn't always a bad thing, but was in this case. The minimum I expect of a hotel is that the room is clean. This room had clean sheets and appeared cleanish, but the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied and it just felt like it could do with a more thorough clean. The hotel is on a busy road, and while the windows were good enough that the traffic and passers-by didn't stop me sleeping, a guy yowling outside the hotel at 2 in the morning certainly did. The bed was hard (which some people like), the room and bathroom were tiny, and the shower had no holder for the nozzle so your had to wash your hair one-handed. On the plus side, it's easily walkable from Brussels Midi station and from the city centre, and there's public transport available on the road where the hotel is. The staff were also friendly and helpful. It wasn't that bad, but I would only stay here again if nothing else affordable was available.

In worst neighborhood of Brussels!
When we arrived we realized we were in the worst part of Brussels—like a war zone. It was a very busy & noisy street. There was supposed to be parking available, but there wasn’t any as advertised. The pipe to shower had holes in it & squirted everywhere! We didn’t feel safe & it was hard to rest easy. We will never return.

Terrible, did not end up staying
I had a terrible experience at Hotel Barry. The hotel was smoky and my room was located in the exit stairwell which made me very uncomfortable as I was staying alone. I also overheard another guest complaining about rats in his room which made me even more upset about the facility! I changed to another hotel immediately.

The room was not similar to te pictures shown on your website. Room was dirty, we reported a mouse in the room but they said they couldn’t do anything about it, the clerk was rude.

1 night to see Brussels
Although it's not in the nicest area the hotel is conveniently located between Brussels Midi station and the Grand Place. Room was a reasonable size although decor was quite tired. In the bathroom the shower head wall mount had broken off. Staff on front desk were friendly and WiFi was good.

Hotel Barry not for Me.
The area of the location is convenient for metro use however it is very dirty, noisy and smells bad when walking in and out of the hotel. The hotel itself lacks basic amenities. Beds are sagging, shower curtains can’t hold the water in so water runs out of the shower all the way to the bedroom. The small TV does not work keeps cutting in and out. The worst part is the weather is so hot and there is no air conditioning. Even with the windows open there is no fresh or cool air coming to the room. With the windows open at night, all the street noise, the shouting, cars screeching their tires keep you awake. Will not go back to stay here and will not recommend.

Basic and clean but shady and noisy area
Basic but very clean and proper. Comfy beds and nice clean linen and towels. Spacious shower. Good wifi. No AC though so will be a hell in summer as it was already very stuffy with warmer weather. The area is super noisy with a shady square occupied by lots of loitering men that are very noisy talking, laughing, yelling, smoking and being very loud well into the night. Street noises also audible. Windows when closed do block the noise quite a lot but not entirely and it's impossible to have them closed all the time due to no AC. Lots of shops nearby and a metro stop. Mind they do charge you before you even arrive as if expecting no show and that charge includes city tax (which shouldn't be paid in case of a no show I think??). That never happened to me before. The booking confirmation states clearly 'you won't be charged untill you check in or check out of the hotel' though...

This is a no-frills hotel. My room was spacious and mostly comfortable but I literally only spent 30 min in it besides sleeping. The floors are hardwood which is fine but it makes for a lot more noise and you can hear what's happening everywhere. The staff was helpful and stood in a parking spot to save it for me until I could bring my car around. I didn't eat breakfast or use any of the other services. The lobby isn't inviting and has not seating or anything. But it's only a 10-15 min walk from Grand Place and it won't break the bank. Not a bad spot if you are trying to stay on a budget.

you get what you pay for. shower was barely big enough for me to stand in and turn around at all. toilet ran all night and there was no water shut off for it in the room. room was so hot I had to keep a window open and deal with all the noise outside. but, bed was comfortable, front desk was helpful, and it was a place to sleep. it was fine, just a minimalist type of thing

If you're travelling in late and need somewhere to sleep in Brussels when all other hotels are full, Hotel Barry will suffice, but don't expect much. In a room crammed with 4 single beds, not one mattress was vaguely appealing. This is not a comfortable place to stay or spend any amount of time. But is has functional en suite rooms and lockable doors. If that is literally all you require, go for it.

There is a laundromat next to the hotel, a supermarket and a one euro shop right opposite the hotel. Pretty convenient. Location right next to the tram station.

It was a nice place to stay, only criticism was the pillows were way too full and too small width wise for the bed, bed was comfortable though, the staff were very helpful and on site 24/7 and spoke pretty good English

Cheap hotel that does the job
It's a cheap hotel, which is just fine if you're not fussy. I was exhausted so was appreciative that I just turned up, they gave me the key and told me where my room was in about 1 minute. (Better than posh hotels where check in seems to take ages.) However, there were some black bits, which looked a bit like a kind of grit, on the bedsheets which freaked me out a bit. Also there was an unsightly rust on the shower rail.

iGreat price but low in quality
I had stayed at Hotel Barry before because of its location and price but this stay was disappointing. Although the price was very good, the room was way too small as there was very little room to put my things. The shower was so small that my back was hugging the shower curtains. No room to put my toiletries anywhere. The management/reception was very sincere, helpful and friendly. And they have satellite TV with hundreds of channels mostly from middle eastern countries along with CNN and CNBC. But this is not enough for me to stay here again because I would rather pay more to be comfortable.
