The Bournemouth International Centre, or the BIC, is a large events space and conference center that hosts a wide range of events throughout the year. Come here to take in everything from wrestling to stand-up comedy shows, from food and drinks festivals to musicals. And of course, if you are visiting Bournemouth for a conference or business event, there is a good chance it will be held here in the BIC.
The BIC first opened its doors in 1984. It holds up to 10,000 people and has four different events spaces: Windsor Hall, Purbeck Hall, Tregonwell Hall and Solent Hall. Over the years it has hosted concerts by huge names such as Lady Gaga, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Katy Perry and more. It has also held shows by some of the biggest comedians from the U.K. and beyond.
Check the program to find out what is happening here during your visit to Bournemouth. Do remember to book your tickets for events here in advance, as they tend to sell out quickly, especially when a big name performer is involved.
Make use of the BIC’s excellent facilities while you are here. During the winter months, you will find an ice rink while at other times of the year there may be a roller rink instead. Year round the BIC houses several different bars and lounges, where you can order an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink before your event or show.
If you’re attending an afternoon conference or festival, you might want to take a lunchtime break in the Terrace Café and order a coffee, cake or sandwich. Catering is also put on for certain evening shows. Check if your ticket includes food before you come.
Order your tickets online then pick them up from the Bournemouth International Centre’s ticket office before your event. Note that the ticket office only opens on Sundays if there is an event then. The BIC is easy to find, due to its location at the southern end of the city center, directly on the coast.
