House keeping never came one day and the next day barely made the bed. Toilet didn’t flush, they fixed when requested. Water was cut off for the entire building from 3-9pm one day. Overall this hotel just doesn’t hold the “Hyatt” standard. Very old and dirty hotel.

We booked a two night stay and unfortunately many of the reviews were correct. The rooms are decent size but the bathroom area is tiny. The carpets in the rooms aren’t vacuumed and have clearly never been cleaned. The hallways are dark. The AC in our room worked well, but the room felt wet overall and the AC was very loud. The bed was comfortable but there was mold on the ceiling. The worst part of our stay was there was utility work done on the road in front of the hotel during our stay which caused the hotel to have no water from around 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We were not made aware this would be an issue until we returned to the hotel to eat dinner in our room with three children and saw a sign in the elevator. We received no email or text communication regarding such a huge inconvenience. After a couple of ours we all needed to use the restroom so we had to leave the hotel to find a place to go. The restaurant beside the hotel was closed because they didn’t have water. When we returned to the hotel around 8:50 the water was turned back on. This made bedtime really late for the kids which we hadn’t planned for. We had been out in the heat all day and needed showers. Overall the hotel was a very big disappointment. It needs renovations, updates and an overhaul of its cleaning policy.

My recent stay at Hyatt Place in Birmingham, Alabama, was not only disappointing it was disheartening. From the moment I checked in, I felt unheard and overlooked. After checking into my room, I immidiately raised concerns about the air conditioning unit in my room, which roared as loudly as a lawnmower making restful sleep impossible for a light sleeper like myself. Though I voiced this concern multiple times, no real effort was made to resolve it. The toilet was leaking, the room appeared unkempt, and the bedding was visibly dingy and creased. Over five nights, the cleaning staff never once serviced the room; on the final day, they simply dropped towels at the door without stepping inside. Despite repeated pleas, management remained distant and dismissive. At one point, they claimed to have arranged a reservation for me at another hotel, encouraging me to move. But when I arrived, that hotel had no record of any booking—leaving me embarrassed and stranded. Not once did anyone from Hyatt offer a written note, a clear resolution, or even a basic gesture of care. What was supposed to be a peaceful and comfortable stay turned into a stressful sleep diprived and lonely ordeal. As a guest, I expected hospitality; what I received was indifference. I hope no one else has to go through what I did. I have video of the loud noise from the AC that I shared with the hotel staff that eventhough care less.

This hotel should not have been a full price hotel under the name Hyatt. More like a cheap roadside motel. It was dilapidated and things were falling apart. Pictures hanging crooked, walls and baseboards beat up, carpet being pulled up in the room. Everything was very unkempt and dirty. There were hairs all over our beds, the faucet sprayed like a splash pad when you turned it on, and the whole hotel just felt like it hadn’t been touched or improved upon in 30 years. Would absolutely not stay again.

Check in was quick and easy. Carpet in the room looked like it had burns, the walls had dirt and debris on them. The tv worked but had lines across the entire screen which made it impossible to watch. The refrigerator looked like it had mouse droppings in it or had not been cleaned from several guests before. They also had one elevator that was out of service so wait times were long and it was hot in the. building. The thermostat in our room needed batteries so it was also hot. The area around was nice and the restaurant options were plentiful. With some updates and a good cleaning it would be a nicer place to stay.

Once I arrived, I was told they didn’t have the room I had reservations for which was a double for two adults and 1 kid. They only had a king room and I could take it or they could refund my stay. I was in town for a baseball tournament and every where was booked up so I had to take the king room. Shower had mold and mildew in it, there was trash all in the hallway and one night they had a party at the pool till midnight with loud speakers blasting and they were not even guest to hotel.
