We were greeted by the reception and the staff tried giving us an early check-in as we reached the villa early. Lucky for us, our villa was ready at 12.30 pm. The interior of the villa is nice. Private swimming pool to our own. The living room was separated from the sleeping area. However, we did not stay out in the living room much as it was too hot and there were too many mosquitos. BBQ is also available in the villa but can be quite pricey but the portion is decent. Breakfast is also served in the villa and there are plenty of options to choose from. There is a free ride to and fro from the ferry terminal and the drivers are very polite and would recommend you to places in Bintan to enjoy. However, getting around the Island could be quite costly as there are no grab or gojek services there for customers to enjoy. You can only look for the villa cab to bring you around the island if you want to go out of the villa. There are not many activities for you to do near the resort as the shopping plaza there has closed due to COVID-19 and you can only play the water activities at the beach if the sea condition is good. Warung Yeah restaurant nearby is good and affordable if you wish to try the local food. All in all, a decent location to stay at but there might be nothing to do in the area at night.

Pros: Clean. good sound proofing you wont hear noise or talking from neighbor villas or outside the villa. Good villa layout. Clean pool and toilets. Not as many mosquitoes as expected. Cons: Breakfast was served extremely late. Was suppose to be 8.45am, but arrived only at 9.47am. Room services are slow. Blacked out twice in the middle of the night, had to walk to reception to inform them. We had to get plates ourselves from reception for a birthday party. Plates were super dirty with cream and dirt, had to rewash them ourselves.

Wonderful and clean hotel
Pool Villa was really clean, staff there were really friendly and responsive. We are able to WhatsApp the front desk directly and they assisted us in making reservations and helped us with our queries. There’s also free pickup and drop off at the ferry terminal which was really helpful. Unfortunately the lagoi bay shopping area was deserted and there were only 2-3 restaurants open by the beach. They were pretty decent though, food was good and not too expensive. Check out Warung Yeah if you’re there. Hotel was beautiful and well maintained. This is a good place to book for 2nights and if you just want to relax in your room during your stay. Massage was reasonably priced too and they would come to your room. Breakfast was also included and they would deliver to your room. Skip the western options, they do the Indonesian food better

A nice villa for family to stay and chill in. Nothing in plaza lagoi as all shops are closed. There's 2 mini marts around the area and 3 restaurant that can be dine if you stay around there. You can email the hotel for free transfer. All staffs are very friendly.

Lovely Weekend Getaway
This was our first time to Bintan so we didn't have any idea what to expect. We were already very glad to not be staying at a crowded resort hotel as we really needed some peace and quiet. The Kamuela staff were super helpful and friendly with everything and our villa was lovely. The villa was immaculately clean and quiet, food was delivered straight to our door and we appreciated the WhatsApp communication method. We look forward to staying there again!

Second time here. Cleanliness is okay but there is some wear and tear in the property but it was acceptable for the price. Massage was on time and in room so its convenient. Pool also looked clean enough. The bugs flying around is to be expected.

I like the quietness of the location of the villa away from the city bustling. There is complimentary private transfer from ferry terminal to villa vice versa. There is no sharing of ride with other villa residents. The driver and staffs of the villa are friendly and not hard sellers for tourism attraction places nor delicacies. We feel comfortable and not pressurised. There is also complimentary breakfasts and served at our villa. There is no need to walk out to common restaurants for breakfast which is excellent. We felt pampered. 🙂. However, it is quite upsetting about repeated request of how to operate the safe in the villa. They have told me they will send staff to check and we waited for a long time, no one came. The next day, we asked the receptionist again, their answer was the same and at the mean time the receptionist also attempted to instruct me of the steps to open the safe and re-set password, i returned to try but still failed. I went to the receptionist again to double check of the steps to reset the password of the safe, and returned to try again till i figured it out by myself. This is a bit disappointing without prompt assistance and demonstration of how to use the safe. Another incident which is quite upsetting is the price quotation of car ride to and from " brother seafood kelong". On the 1st day in villa, the receptionist told me it would cost 250, 000 indo rup but the next day, the price quotation became 350, 000 indo rup.

My review of Kamuela villas
Staff were friendly and provided impeccable service. They were very accommodating as well. However, we faced the issue of a leaking villa so hotel management could consider performing better and more regular maintenance of the villas.

A recommended Stay
Pro: It was an amazing property given the price that was paid. Got the studio, with comes with a splendid patio, bathtub & personal pool. Entire property was also beautiful. Staffs were also friendly. Cons: Need to be wary of mosquitoes, but bring your own repellant should solve the issue (which I did) Surrounding entertainment is pretty much dead, with nothing pretty much nothing around to eat/play. My entertainment generally is sought by taking the cab to treasure bay. Others: Breakfast was ok. It's not a buffet spread, but rather ala-carte for you to choose. The check-out process was abit too long for me as there was only one staff manning the check-in/out.

The villa was lovely, quiet but could see that the condition was not the best. There were plenty insects daily but expected since it was a villa surrounded by nature. The bfast was better than expected (coffee wasn’t good though) - Asian choices were better than the Continental/Western. Communication with front desk is super easy with WhatsApp. Place is near to Lagoi beach which is very quiet but has a cheap and good restaurant. Around 10min from treasure bay for water activities

Booked the signature villa, but turned out the sliding door of the rooms are not functioning, and the living room area is quite dusty. We requested a change of room, but there were only one premier suite left, so we have to downgrade our room. Since no refund is able to made, the manager compensated us with a free barbecue dinner as room service, which we really appreciated it. The premier suite we stayed is very cozy and quite clean the pool is nice. Staffs are polite and they responded to our whatsapp enquiries and request very fast. Breakfast is also quite nice. The only problem is a cockroach appeared during our barbecue, but staffs are helpful and rescue were sent to us quickly. Overall speaking, we enjoyed our stay.

The villa is well maintained. It took a while to get our villa's wifi fixed, with a few rounds of communication with the front desk. There were a lot of mosquitoes. Maybe the management can think of how to reduce the mosquitoes or we need to bring mosquitoes coil to chase off the mosquitoes. Overall, the villas is nice and my girl loves the villa pool. Breakfast is good and staff are generally friendly.

DEFINITELY NOT as bad as reviewed.
The stay was beyond our expectations and DEFINITELY NOT what other reviews mentioned. The hotel and its staffs had been attentive, accommodating and very friendly to us for the entire duration of our 4 days stay. Kudos to the good work by the hotel team. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Bintan!

My stay and my choice of good food.
Your driver who takes us from the bay is very good. I was late to arrive at the villa due to wrong booking . Tks to the help from Pak Budi who helps me . There are not many good restaurant around Bintan as compare to Thailand Krabi or Phukets. They sell good and fresh food and have a good cooking skills.( The price of food in krabi and Phuket are gentle to the pockets) This is what happen upon my arrival at the villa. The sliding door to the swimming pool is not able to open. The swimming pool was not clean of the falling leafs. Tea and coffee corner are not top up. Mineral water was also not top up . There was left over of the previous pax mineral water which was place on the dining table. Breakfast was very disappointing . The nasi goreng was not well cook . The spread of a VILLA breakfast is not as lavish to the price we paid for. We able to get better food at the restaurant opposite the villa for a good breakfast , lunch and dinner. The bedroom are not as intimate as in the picture . I am comparing this with the stay in Bali Villa. We have good rooms , maid and a good spread of breakfast.. I will be going there again to see the improvement in future. I would suggest that you hires a good cook for your villa and to create a good impressions to each one coming to stay at anytime in the villa. Hope the above mention is good for your future planning . Make it a well good experience for all to come. All the best to Lagoi bay villa.

Ok hotel with nice staff but not worth the price.
Overall ok hotel. Staff are nice enough and accommodating. But I struggle to find a justification for the price. They are charging Bali resort prices for a resort that’s in Bintan and not exactly in a prime location of the island. There are very limited eating and shopping options in this area. The area itself has more staff than tourists!! It was a bit creepy walking around and sometimes feeling like the only visitors there. Also, there is no restaurant in the hotel. You have to walk out to eat and get stuff. It’s cheaper to go out than to order room service. We ordered 2 fresh coconuts and had to pay 120,000 rupiah for both. So 60,000 rupiah each. Outside they sell for 25 000-37000 rupiah each. I have no idea why they charge so much premium for super average coconuts !! Also, there is construction going on as they are expanding the villas. construction starts very early 7:30 am and ends very late 11+ pm(?!!). Super noisy THE WHOLE DAY AND NIGHT. For those sensitive to noise, bring ear plugs!!!

NO amenities at Lagoi Bay
Beautiful villa and wonderful staff - but Lagoi Bay is DEAD and clearly has been for 10 years. Although the villa offers a kitchen, it isn't well appointed and the nearest food to buy is 1.5 hours drive away. There are only two restaurants within walking distance, and most of the activities promised don't exist. We got bored and left early :(

I would like to say that all works’ attitude in the villas were nice and kind. The swimming pool was amazing, it was clean. However, the room’s door frame was broken, means it wasn’t fixed properly and there were big gap in between. which allowed a lot of mosquitoes entered the room, and we got many many bites from mosquitoes. All the toiletries had very bad quality, toothbrush was very hard, toothpaste was like flour, and the shaving cream was not smooth at all. The out door bathroom floor was so oily and slippery. And it took More than 10 minutes to let the hot water to come out. If all the things above we can tolerate, however, the things make us crazy was so many animals visit us, we been see plenty mosquitoes, and there were cockroach, gecko, rat. After I reported to the staff that the rat was in my room, one of the guy came to my villa to check with torchlight from the phone, and after a while he told me that the rat was gone. None of the intervention was done by the villa’s staff, and I saw the little rat claimed on the tree and fridge as well after he left. It was my worst experience till now.

The towel had rusty stain here and there. The stool was broken but they managed to fix it on the spot. Loved the pool. The toilet was super huge. Love their bath tub. I will go again If i have the opportunity.
