Comfortable stay

Always find Motel One as a straightforward hotel to stay over in. Comfortable bed and bedding and a great shower. Heating also available in the rooms, essential for January in Berlin!

Hotel was lovely and staff very helpful and friendly. Air conditioning was broken so they placed us in room at rear of building to allow us to open window. Room was still too warm and very noisy due to demolition taking place next to holiday. Was woken at 6.30am with noise and never given any warning of noise. Maids came to clean room before 9 every day even on leaving date

This time not so good

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and it’s normally very good for the price point (with an excellent gin bar), but this time not so good. Issue 1 - it was totally my mistake that I booked for one and there was two of us, but it was easily fixed, didn’t need a change of room (all rooms are doubles) all that was needed was to pay for the extra person. The receptionist was particularly grumpy about all this and made an issue that we needed an extra duvet. (And towels but he forgot about those…). I would have understood if he’d needed to find a different room but that wasn’t the case. Issue 2 - the hotel now has a (somewhat silly in my view) housekeeping system. There are two cards in the room. Do not disturb and Do not clean. If either (or both if you feel like it) of these cards are on the door, then your room doesn’t get cleaned. Fine if a little bit confusing, (surely you can have a combined DND/do not clean card)… The problem was on the one day we wanted the room cleaned, we duly removed both cards in the morning and left for the day expecting the room to be done on our return. It wasn’t, requiring a trip to reception to get clean towels..

MotelOne is nr1.. for the price

Motelone is always value for money, the beds are good, rooms cozy and the bathrooms okay. The ground floor has a nice lounge atmosphaere, inviting to sit down and take a drink. The onlybthing is that the breakfast needs some scrambled eggs and more vegetables.. otherwise all is good!

Uncomfortable bed and pillows, and lacking cleaning routines. Super basic, even for the relatively low price. Ps: Don’t be fooled: you are not given access to a gym nearby - the misleading text is nothing more than a tricky way of stating that yes; in the middle of a large city, there will be gyms nearby, and if you want to use them, you have to pay.
