Bad Experience… During my visit at Golden Bay Hotel dated 26 Oct 2019. Upon arriving at the hotel at 1000hrs, my friends and I was told by the concierge that there’s no room for us. The rooms were not ready due to rectification works. They should have inform us in advance about it so that we could make the necessary arrangement as not to waste our time. After an hour two of waiting, we were told that they will get us our room but we need to share rooms in order to accommodate, but we decline the offer as we have already paid our stay in full. They sent us from one hotel to another and make us look like bumbling idiots. Then they told us they got 3 rooms which is like a chalet, so we went back to Golden View hotel to view this "chalet" which is located near the swimming pool. This chalet looks like a chicken coup and smells of cow dung, it looks like someone got murdered in that chalet (yes its that bad), it was quiet and haunting, the chalet looks like it has not been occupied since Japan invaded Asian in WW2, I kid you not, there was a bed on the floor, a very musty smell and only us around and no one else!! Do we seriously look like some barn yard animals or someone looking for an outdoor adventure?? Look, if the hotel would have give us 2 or 3 weeks notice that the hotel is fully booked then maybe we could have could have planned to go somewhere else but this is not the case, who wouldn't get angry?? We were treated like idiots running here and there looking for a god

Great value hotel.
Super friendly, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Highly recommended as long as you're ok taking taxis into main areas.

The place was listed as a 3 star but it was definitely a 1 star. Smokey, dirty ashtrays in the lobby area. A karaoke place next door that was very loud and went until 6 am. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!! Waste of money

Very Friendly Staff
Over all stay is very good with all the friendly staff, Front office clerks, housekeeping staff and restaurant associates. However the wardrobe was dusty every time we stay. The so call personal safe is so difficult to use, be the location, method of keying the passwords, the words of instruction are invisible to follow.................... cannot be used is the word.

Super good
1st impressions...the staff..Nona ( Hope I'm correct) Speak to us in mandarin when she look at our passport. This make me feel at home. She then politely inform us the room is not ready and quickly highlight to us on the free shutter bus to the two major shopping mall. 2nd impression... when we checked in the room ,WOW again..the room was clean and fresh. The tower and bedsheets was soft and have nice smell, so it was bless to checked in just after cleaning up. 3rd impressions.. Whenever we are in and out of the hotel the staff will always greet and open the door for us. So we are paying 3.5 stars price but receiving 5 stars service. No problem all on their location and sowhat if they are away from shopping malls ,strongly recommend to stay on this hotel when visiting Batam.

Nice comfortable hotel
Nice comfortable table. Good service and at 50000rup, a reasonable breakfast to keep you going till lunch in town. Service is good, from reception to restaurant staff to shuttle drivers, all are courteous and well trained. Can just walk to the attractions at Golden Batam which the day tours bring you to, but a waste of time . Free shuttle service to city centre is useful, especially after the horror stories I read on Trip advisor about the taxi system there. But time taken to reach n return plus waiting time means those who like shopping should consider more expensive equivalent hotel in centre. Inconsiderate guests talking at 1am in the corridor and stupid tour guides shouting in the corridors at 5am waking up the tourists for early morning call spoiled my last night there. This wasn't the hotels fault but perhaps they can inform tour groups about unacceptable behaviour Overall, those looking for cheap clean hotel, and just a quiet place to relax bum around, this is a good place.

Could be better
Overall, it's an average hotel if you need a place to reside in batam. For the price you're paying, you shouldn't expect something out of the ordinary. I feel that the cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms could be massively improved. Stains in the toilet. Doesn't smell fresh. (And there was soap on the floor when I came in for the first time). The condition of the room could be improved too. Having stayed at other hotels in batam within the same rating and price, this hotel is behind the rest of them. Breakfast is alright. Nothing much to choose from. But it keeps you full if you're able to eat something off the selection. There are a few eateries within walking distance so if you need to, go get a bite outside. There's a minimart just right down the road too. Distance to major places in batam center is alright. Within 15 minutes drive. However it could be quite far if you're planning to visit attractions in sekupang, harbour bay or maybe even barelang. All in all, it's decent for a short stay. But not a place to impress your crush or scandal you're bringing over to stay with you.

Can’t get anything cheaper for a good 3-star hotel
Just opposite the go-kart and other adventure places. Free Shuttle service provided to go BCS And Nagoya Hills. Best value for money. Like the firm pillows and bed, just need to work on the hot-cold water. It gets either really hot or cold, despite the direction you turn the mixer tap. Ask for room away from the foodcourt...

No toilet paper, no body lotion, power trip.
When I arrived at the hotel ard 2pm I have to wait for the staff to allocate to me a room as they say they were full yesterday. Is that my problem? I have to wait for half an hr for my room. On top of that the body lotion and toilet paper the staff simply never top up. When I call the housekeeping dept they also say they will bring but waited for so long and nobody came.

Unbelievable service at an unbelievable price.
Go around the world and you can't get many such places which give you quality, comfort and service at such an unbelievable price. Will never ever forget the service rendered by Rio, Jenny and Octa. The people are so kind you will fall in love with them. The place is ideal for a family with walking distance to adventure and awesome food. Go Karting to Parasailing, you are just a 3 - 4 min walk away. The breakfast is great. The shuttle service to the city centre is a dream. If you are going to Batam, you should not stay anywhere else!

Cheap hotel lacking consistent service standards
Golden Bay Hotel was a highly affordable hotel that provides value for money services such as an included daily breakfast that was tasty and free shuttle services to and from Nagoya Hill Mall. What could have been an highly satisfactory stay at this hotel was marred by inconsistent service standards and poor maintenance of the room. 1) Booked a Double Room with an add-on bed to sleep a total of 3 pax. Checked in at 11am and was told by the reception during check-in that housekeeping would be placing the additional bed by the end of the day. Returned at 9pm to find no add-on bed. Had to call the receptionist to remind her and it took 1 hour before housekeeping finally set up the add-on bed. We were beat by 10pm when everything was ready. 2) When I first checked in the room on day 1, shampoo and body gel dispensers were entirely empty. Had to get receptionist to call housekeeping to refill them. Rather appalled that housekeeping tidied the entire room after the previous guest checked out but missed refilling the dispenser which was transparent and clearly empty. 3) On the 2nd day of stay, upon my return to the room at night, room was tidied but housekeeping did not refill the empty tissue box and toilet roll holder. Had to call them for a refill. 4) Air-con set at 16 deg Celsius was not cold at all. Took a good hour for the room to cool down. Air-con vent was also extremely black and dirty. Look as if it hadn't been cleaned in years.

Unexpected GOOD SERVICE for VALUE for Money Stay
Service is the best. They do keep their SLOGAN of Serving Guest With HEART. All staff serve the guests with hearty smilessssssssssssssss and patience especially the Front Office Supervisor or Manager DION who really takes good care of us. We will surely return for their hospitalities. However the room was a bit dusty, especially on the in-room safe box, headborad of the bed. The washing basin was leaking severely and makes the floor wet ( please rectify ).

The staffs is helpful. Traffic jam on 5pm onward weekend and the weather is scorching hot, even the shuttle bus couldn't reach at the BCS mall bus stop. But the shuttle bus driver make the effort to leave the bus and find us at the busstop. #appreaciate

Good hotel in Golden City
The stay at the hotel is great overall. Just a few things that could be improved on,: no hair dryer provided (could be provided upon request perhaps), Staff didn't assist to help some of the safe boxes (I booked 6 rooms in total) and there was some early morning activity at 6am that caused my patrons to wake up - could have been a warning upon check-in. Other than that, I would recommend the hotel for its location in Golden City, general staff and accommodation as well as price.

Nice hotel 4/5
A good hotel but the shower always switches between cold and hot where I do not have control over the temperature. WiFi connection is stable but sometimes buggy depending on which room you got. Water activity is far away from the hotel so is a little bit inconvenient.

Nice hotel overall
Few mins walk to golden view hotel. Facilities are shared when you stay in golden bay so that's nice. friendly staffs. Go kart is right opposite. Although surroundings is quite noisy but only stayed for a night

I was their with my family on the 3rd Dec to 6th Dec2017. The taxi trip from Batam Ferry Terminal to cost 80k and it quite near. The room is good and the service is excellent. The Hotel is just beside a park which has alot of fun activities like Go-Cart, Paint ball shooting, flying fox, parasailing..etc The hotel provides free shutter service to Nagoya and BCC mall which is a very important service due to their location. There are food court just beside the hotel and the lady some one also mentioned before can speak chinese. My children loves their morning breakfast which serve mee goreng. They even have eggs station which serve different type of eggs on request. Overall a very good place to stay for family because of it services and the nearby park.

A good hotel for the price
Rather difficult to be found but the hotel is a new one with Oriental atmosphere and they tried to serve well.Altough the hotel.is 2 star I reckond, but it was okey, for.the PRICE I have been paid. Of course compare it wit IBIS Styles is not a match, even though noth of them I really satisfied

Great Hotel
I thought I was conned...When I went online it states "Golden View Hotel" the hotel I always wanted to try out but the link went to Golden Bay. I can say it was a blessing in disguise. I did stay at the golden view a few days later but it was no better than Golden Bay. Golden view had poor Wi-Fi connection compared to Golden Bay.. Both hotels incidentally are under the same management. The plus is the location for those who wish to have a quiet night rest. It may be a little way off from the city but they do have free shuttle running to shopping centers and Batam City Center ferry terminal. What I like is the food at the food court which is really cheap and great. Do not get fooled by the look of it. They do not display food in their stalls due to health and hygiene reasons. They are frightened of guest getting food poisoning and thus kept food in ice boxes and fridges. Just walk in and asked for the menus or approach the stall and ask Seafood, BBQ, Beers you name it they have it. Sping rolls, fried fish, BBQ fish, Deep fried shrimps with butter or cereals and satay are my favorites If you need assistance ask the food-court manager "Nengsi" she will assist you. What's more you have free Kareoke.. I spent 3 nights having my dinner at the food court.....

Great Hotel
Always wanted tothe try Golden View and when I saw it on Expedia I was trying to book it but the link kept going to Golden Bay Hotel...I thot I was conned but I guess it was a blessing in disguise. Stay 4 days at the hotel and it was fantastic.WI_FI was good....Food great. What really impressed me was the food court named "Geylanf Food Court" next to the hotel...Many still do not know about it and if you walk in to it do not get fooled by it appearance and no food on display cabinet of the stalls. They do not display any food items for fear of contamination. Weather is hot and and food on display will turned and caused food poisoning. All food are kept in the fridge for safety and health concern of all customers.... Ask and they will show you the menus.....Price is really cheap and the food is one of the best and if you want to sing there is a kareoke stage for you show off your talent for free..... Need any assistance the manager of the food court is really helpful.
