Modern chic hotel operated by super helpful people at the lovely quarter of Basel! 3 of us stayed 4 nights in Garden View Suite with washer/dryer + ample water shower and couldn't be happier. Most of the city's main attractions are within walking distance and strolling on many little passages throughout was a lot of fun. Tram#3 stops directly in front of the hotel, which easily connects with Tram#8 or #11 to Basel SSB main station. One advice is to bring Type J adapter for charging. We sincerely recommend the stay at SET:-)

The room was spotless. The hotel is very spacious and is in a great location. My room was overlooking the yard so it was very quiet. Very walkable and safe neighborhood! Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again next time I’m in Basel!

Staff are very friendly and were very helpful. Hotel is in a good location to get to train station and walking around the old town. Room was modern and fairly large for Switzerland, somewhat sparse but functional.

We stayed in the new annex across the street from this historic hotel. The room was super clean, modern and quiet. It had a beer bar and small cafe in the ground floor. English speakers on staff were excellent. We ate in the historic restaurant and that was great, if pricey. Easily walkable to campus and old part of town with classic architecture. Right on tram line. We stayed one night before getting on Rhine River Cruise.

Excellent room and hotel, and would love to go back. Excellent service, design and location. Felt at home and also enjoyed the communal spaces such as lobby/bar area, garden and gym. Very welcoming and nice to relax at. Very nice location too, easy to walk to key attractions, restaurants, bars , the river and great access to public transport. Beautiful room and very comfortable too. Plus points for the bikes and the travel card for free public transport and discounts to key attractions. Thank you. Will definitely return :)

Adequate accommodation in good location

This hotel was just average from my perspective. Pros - great location. Pretty quiet given the tram runs out front. Close to a tram stop. Hotel gave us tram passes which was nice. Rooms are large. Cafe in lobby is pretty good. Cons - Very sparsely decorated. Rooms showing some wear. Felt cold (and ironically the heat didn’t seem to work in our room either). No extra blankets in room. Service wasn’t overly friendly or accommodating despite a seemly pretty empty hotel. Beds are pretty firm and not overly comfortable. Overall, I’m really surprised this is a 4 star hotel and that the ratings are so high. I would call this an average/adequate hotel, at best. It was fine for one night for us but there wasn’t anything about it that really impressed me.
