Loved this hotel! The rooftop was beautiful. My only feedback was that the service at the rooftop restaurant was not the greatest (ignored upon arrival, no offer of water, long time to take order, wasn’t asked how meal was)

We loved our stay here. The staff were all so kind and friendly, Ramon who took our bags, Priti at the spa, Merce at breakfast and Miguel at the pool. The spa is lush and well worth a visit, we spent a lot of time snoozing in the very comfy beds or on the rooftop terrace in the sun. The view from there is great and the pool was clean and warm. The hotel organised an egg-cellent Easter egg hunt which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely come back to visit again and enjoy this very nice hotel.

Great Stay
Great customer service, fabulous large room with great facilities and amenities. Check in with Luis was excellent. Dinner was a little limited in menu choice for me, although I could access the room service menu. Lovely reception and bar area with an amazing fire given its winter. Fab roof terrace which would be amazing in the summer. Overall great stay and excellent staff

Could do better for 5 star hotel
For a 5 star hotel it’s lacking. Things should be completely seamless and comfortable yet it was not. Here is what happened: 1) I was meant to get a free upgrade but was charged for it until I flagged it with them. 2) they charged me again for my accommodation on checkout even though it was pre paid on hotels.com and if I didn’t raise it they wouldn’t have picked it up. 3) complimentary razor in the bathroom was used inside the box. 4) wind was whistling through the windows a lot. Given that Barcelona can get windy this should have been taken care of. 5) WiFi was very unstable and weak. Tried to video call and work online but internet was too slow. 6) no water in the fridge in the gym. 7) porter didn’t collect luggage from the room until I went downstairs even though I called reception 15 minutes prior.

The metal threshold between the room and the bath was not completely attached and leaving the bathroom i caught my left ankle on the sharp threshold and punctured my ankle at 3AM and spend the night in terrible pain. I asked for that night to be comped which I thought was very reasonable under the circumstances since I was unable to leave the hotel until mid afternoon because of the pain. The hotel manager did not get back to me and when we checked out the desk manager apologized on behalf of the hotel but said she was unable to offer me compensation one night but would give me a credit on the dinner we had the first night $77 and 5,000 pts on my IHG account or 10,000 points but no dinner. She was arrogant and nasty about it. I declined her offers because I do not think it is fair not to compensate for one night where I was disabled for that period because of the negligent, unsafe maintenance of the room and my last day in Barcelona was ruined. There was also a dirty cleaning rag left in the room which is why I am rating poor maintenance.

Our family enjoyed InterContinental Barcelona so much. It was in a quiet area, yet close to many attractions nearby. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed the 7th floor view of the city, ambiance, music and drinks. The rooms were very clean, big, and the two queen beds were perfect for our family. Exceeded our expectations in every aspect! The staff was attentive & friendly, breakfast buffet was amazing, the rooms were clean & spacious (nice bonus that the bathroom had a separate shower and tub and a water closet), and stunning rooftop deck/pool and views! The location was perfect, we initially chose this hotel to walk to the Harry Styles concert, but everything else was also nearby: restaurants, shopping, Gothic Quarter were all quick to get to by foot. We'd definitely stay here again

Stayed here for 5 nights with the family after reading the reviews. I will stay here again. Pros: new ish hotel with modern feel, luxurious interior and friendly staff. The gentleman at the bar (I think his name is Miguel or so) was exceptionally brilliant, going over and beyond to make sure all guests were satisfied. Cons (the word “con” is probably too harsh for this): 10 minute ish drive from Plaza Catalunya which meant cab rides to the good restaurants and key attractions. It is close to the magic fountain though. All in all, I strongly recommend this hotel.
