The physical property is quite nice. It is an old building, which is evident in the nice craftsmanship and structure. For example, the materials used to build the building and finish the appointments is quite nice... very nice marbles and woodwork trim that has a flourish about it. On the downside, the wifi was useless to me due to problems logging on and availability. Additionally, my room was a bit noisy, being on the street side. (I did not have the presence of mind to ask for the "non-street" side.)
Having mentioned the street, I will add here that the location of the hotel was indeed fine for my needs in Bangkok.
The air-conditioning never really hit the button for me, even though the setting was at 19 degrees C (66 degrees F).
The "king" bed was actually two doubles joined together. It was plenty wide, but the length was double length, which made it too short. It would be fine for someone less than 6 feet tall though.
Another issue affecting my sleep was the quality of the pillows. They were too firm and a bit lumpy.
The security guy downstairs was quite friendly and helpful, but the front desk staff was only so-so, in my opinion.
It could be a much nicer hotel, given its physical plant and style.
