Its a lovely old converted mansion. Great ambiance with the rooms named after poets and with framed poems on the walls! The view from the roof terrace is awesome and breakfast was great. The location was close to all the ancient attractions I wanted to see.

The evening/night reception was extremely helpful, arranging food delivery from a local restaurant and providing some breakfast foods for an extremely early departure. The day reception provided a good restaurant recommendation within easy walking distance. Nice and close (walking distance) to the Acropolis and Parthanon. We enjoyed our stay at Home and Poetry.

Very charming boutique hotel housed in historic building with rooftop breakfast cafe (with acropolis view!) in great location. Home & Poetry was a great choice for us while visiting Athens. The hotel was extremely clean with plenty of toiletries. Our suite had an upstairs room that was a perfect layout for our adult daughter. The rooftop cafè offered a buffet breakfast as well as a made to order menu each morning that we enjoyed while taking in the acropolis view. This is also a great place to enjoy the view in the evening. The location is perfect for walking to all of the shops, restaurants and meeting place for starting acropolis tour. The staff does a nice job of taking care of guests. Plumbing quirky in old building, but other than that no issues. We enjoyed staying in this lovely hotel with delicious breakfast and acropolis view allowing us to conveniently walk around Plaka!

Beautifully authentic repurposed older building recently updated without losing its charm and heritage. The staff were kind and courteous and the (included) roof top breakfast was tasty and scenic! Safe and elegant place to stay less than a block off the plaka!

The location of the property is its key benefit. Nothing can beat breakfast on the roof top with a close view of Acropolis. The downside is the street noise but gradually you are getting used to it. The team was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at Home and Poetry!

Its a lovely old converted neoclassical mansion. Beautifully renovated and rooms themed with famous Greek poets! Location is a quiet street super close to the acropolis. They are helpful in every way and the breakfast was great!

we were a group of 5 girls. It was the second time we had stayed at home and poetry. As before we were not disappointed. The staff were excellent and went the extra mile to help the girls as their luggage was lost by Swissair. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a great option if you want to be close to all the action in downtown Athens. The hotel walking distance of all the downtown attractions and is in a good area of the city close to restaurants and shopping. The breakfast, which is included in the price of the stay, was excellent. The staff was fantastic. This is a quirky boutique hotel. It has no lobby. It does have an extremely small elevator, but some stair-climbing is required even to get to the elevator. The hotel was very quiet inside, however at night expect some noise outside as you’re centrally located in a bustling city. Overall, a great stay. Thank you Home and Poetry!

Location perfect
Beautiful hotel situated in the centre of Athens. We arrived quite late in the evening but the hotel staff were immediately at the door to greet us. Our room was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was superb and the staff were so friendly and happy to accommodate any dietary requirements. Breakfast was served on the outdoor patio area at the top of the hotel which had views of the Acropolis. The location of this hotel is absolutely superb, everything was in easy walking distance and we didn’t need to use any public transport. Only negative- it was a bit noisy at night but ear plugs were provided, but not surprising as you are in the middle of a city. Definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Great location, unique and historic building
Spent our last two nights of a two week trip here and was very happy with our stay. The location is fantastic for exploring the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the Plaka and more and is a 10ish minute walk from the Syntagma Square metro which takes you directly to the Airport. Our room was clean and spacious and the historic building has some beautiful charming elements like the grand wrapping staircase at the entryway. Though very close to busy areas, because it is tucked away a bit found it to be pleasantly quiet. Free breakfast is fine if not great, nice rooftop location to dine outside while looking up at the Greek flag (east) side of the Acropolis, you may see them raising the flag as you dine. The room had a fridge and was stocked with a couple free small waters daily.
