The keyless check in was a disaster, consuming much pre-arrival customer time, only to be overridden with a physical key being issued in the end. Obtaining the key required traveling to a sister hotel over a mile away. We were told "They were having internet problems". The coffee machine had a cup of stale coffee in the overflow well. There was poor communication in the room about the location of items like the ice machine. It turns out the machine was a block away in a separate building. And so it went. The bright spot was the woman managing the breakfast activity. She was very attentive and helpful, albeit too late to address the above mentioned issues. No one was available as the mentioned events were unfolding. Yes, its 2026, and we understand staffing is an issue and technology is king. Unfortunately "customer service', a reason to stay at any property, has suffered as a result. At this property it seems to have all but disappeared. The bottom line? We will not be using EXPEDIA or staying at this facility on our next visit to Apalachicola.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Coombs Villas. The bed was comfy and the room was cozy. We appreciated having a mini fridge and coffee maker. Our only concern was that we were not given information on the location or the time breakfast was served. We ventured up to the other Croombs Yellow house and found our nice hot breakfast ( not sure about the time still). Better communication would be helpful in that regard.

I love the property, perfectly located within walking distance. Rooms very clean and cool. The Staff was excellent, Ms. Rebecca Jean was the highlight of the place, very professional and loves what she does. She gave great advice of the town and some good history. Ms. Rebecca was a great hostess, the hospitality of the city was great. I have already since I've been home and told everyone about Coombs. I'll be back definitely, Thanks....

Room was very nice as you would expect for an older home. I grew up in an old home, so it felt like home. Charming. The staff was super sweet and answered my questions and any issues i had come up. They were wonderful. On to the property, it's beautiful older homes that needs more attention. The staff do what they can with what they have, but there are broken banisters, the jacuzzi in the room was not working, and the shower has wood flooring right in front of it that's is getting ruined, the bathroom flooring, while beautiful, needed to be replaced due to cracks, the outside seating at the main home for breakfast is worn down. You can see that there are areas outside the home that also need attention. Over all, still a nice stay in a charming home.

This was my third stay however this was the first time I did not stay at the main house. I did not like the digital key, it was a hassle. I did not like having to climb into a jacuzzi tub to take a shower, especially with no hand rails to ensure safety climbing in. The ceiling of my room looked like it may come down at any minute. I realize the history/age and that is what I enjoy about the place but again, I've only ever stayed at the main house. I only stayed for one night so it was okay but next time I will be sure to book a room in the main house.

Downtown Apalachicola. Could walk to anything. Property was lovely, real old Florida. We had a lovely room with a 4 poster bed and bay window. We had access to the first floor porch and my wife enjoyed reading out there on an old rocking chair. Breakfast was good and host cooked some bacon for us fresh. Love Apalachicola and would have loved to stayed in the property longer, but we were just passing through.

Too many problems to list. I hated I have to fill out an application and get an app to get into a room. But if I am driving, how was I supposed to do that. The guy on the phone acted like I was the problem.i don’t think the guest should sit outside to fill out forms. Wanted me to travel to pick up a room key and said he was doing me a favor by not charging me extra. You can’t regulate room temperature. The bath fixture look very old. Stay away.

Rebecca was a perfect Southern hostess and made us feel so welcome. The digital check-in process was easy inconvenient. This historic mansion was well maintained with historic pieces throughout the property. It was very walkable - we just parked our vehicle at the property and walked to the many bars, restaurants and quaint shops. It was one of our favorite spots!

Gorgeous circa 1900 house with original woodwork. There was a fireplace in my room. Some rooms have clawfoot bathtubs. I enjoyed a very quiet stay. Plus it's VERY convenient to town.
