DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, YOU MAY SHOW UP TO A CANCELLED RESERVATION. I booked this hotel since a good friend of mine was getting married and the reception was at this hotel, that way I could enjoy myself without the need of having to worry about driving afterwards. When I arrived to the hotel, the receptionist informed me that my reservation had been cancelled because of a leak on the floor my room was supposed to be and that they had rebooked me to a Holiday Inn 15 minutes away. My first complaint to them was: how come no one made me aware of the situation before I arrived? To this they claimed they had no way to communicate with me since I made my reservation through Expedia. At the point of my arrival, I was left with the only option to take the room at the Holiday Inn the reserved for us, not only I was kicked out of the hotel, but I also had to give the other hotel my credit card so they could place a hold on it, they did not bother having someone there from Summit to take care of this. At the wedding reception, I came to find out that several guests were accommodated the same day at 2pm (One hour before my check-in). Coincidentally, some rooms were released and given to wedding party guests (note I booked my room on my own and not as a block), so I am left to think the floor leak story is totally false, since there were other rooms they could have given me. Book at your own risk and pray there aren't that many weddings booked for those nights.

Really neat location and would go back soley based on the outdoor activities but the place was a bit unorganized and cleanliness and upkeep were not the best. It was still good though. I would not avoid it, just manage some expectations and then have a great time :) The animal refuge and butterfly tour are well worth every minute

From our room, we could hear bar music very loud until 3 am then guests banged doors and yelled in halls until 4:30 am. Golf course was great.

The property and the restaurant were very disappointing. The hotel is a bit dated, but clean. The rooms were ok, nothing special. What really disappointed me were the property/hotel grounds. I booked the room because of the advertised rainforest tours to see sloths, frogs and other animals. It turns out the tours basically all take place in the morning (before check in time) so we wouldn’t be able to join any of them that day. We were planning a one night trip and were not planning to stay long the next morning. We walked ourselves through the “rain forest”, even though the concierge strongly advised us to only take guided tours. The rainforest area inside the property was actually really small - most of the property was cleared to make a golf course. We walked the whole rainforest in less than an hour. The sloth and frog habitats were gated, with dark mesh covering outside the fences. The doors had padlocks hanging on them but they were not locked so we went in. There were no animals in the habitats - I guess they must relocate them to another place when the guided tours are over. After the walk, we went to the pool. The pool area was nice enough, but the pool was pretty crowded and very cold. After the swim we had a very disappointing dinner at the only restaurant on the property. The food was overpriced, not very good and took a very long time to come out even though they were not terribly busy. The bar was closed.

When we arrived the floor in our room was very wet and slippery. Asked several times to hae the floor dried but at 11 p. m. we were still dealing with the floor. we recevied aphone call at 11 p.m. about my husband returning a charger? we had no idea about this. Then again in the morning we had the same call. One night we were woken by very loud music at 1 a.m. when we asked we were told they would be done by 2 then by 3:30. This was very upseting as the whole room was vibrating and shaking form the loud music.

I was placed next to a room which had a dog which barked constantly. I was moved to a room above the ballroom where a dj played pounding music until 11:45 despite my complaints that I couldn’t sleep. The safe did not reopen and maintenance had to be called.
