We enjoyed our stay here. It was a close distance to walk to downtown Anchorage. It was a quiet location. Room, bathroom, living room and kitchen were clean. We would stay here again.
The property was very comfortable and clean. Also very convenient to downtown and a walkable distance in a safe neighborhood. Many extras, bikes available, travel info and a good selection of books if you enjoy reading. Nice optional grab and go breakfast available. I would highly recommend a stay here
We enjoyed having the whole top floor of the home. It included a living, dining room and kitchen and bedrooms. The owner was kind and friendly. He greeted us upon arrival and stopped once more during our stay to see if we needed anything.
We loved staying here. We had one other family that we shared the living room and kitchen with, but we each had out own private bathrooms, and they had their own family room in their room. We only really saw each other during meals. We chose to go out for breakfasts and all-day excursions, but cooked dinner at the room. The host also let us use his grill and charcoal. Super nice guy and very accommodating to any of our requests! The place was hot to us, so we adjusted the thermostat, but when the other family showed up, they cranked it back up. So, we opened the window in our bedroom for sleeping, and the neighborhood is noisier than we are used to at home, with cars engines revving and people wandering the neighborhood at night. We would/will stay here, again, and the price was fair over the Labor Day weekend.
The basement of an older couple, run by their son. They completed construction work overhead during my stay.
No breakfast, bathroom across the common area. No door lock. People walking past my windows.
I would have preferred a hotel.
Property was great. We had a large private room and private bathroom down the hall.We also had access to a kitchen and the "grab and go" breakfast was great. Scott was an amazing host and very helpful!
Originally we picked out this B&B for the price. We think we have found a little diamond in the rough. We travel through Anchorage frequently and plan to stay at Walk About again.
The property is incredibly clean and well marked. Although we hadn't realized that the space would be shared with others, it all proved very workable. The owners could not have been more helpful or hospitable and considerate of making us feel comfortable. The free bike was a big plus!
Very clean. Some little things that would go a long way, in general: tissue boxes in bathrooms and bedrooms. A basket of snacks (granola bars, cookies etc.), travel size bottles of lotion, toothpaste etc. For things guests may have forgotten. While we knew Alaska would be expensive, we would have appreciated the little extras.

Not to expected.
It was ok if not for the noise above us. We get awakened by the walking above us constantly. We stayed for 3 nights , nobody cleaned our room and bathroom till we left. Breakfast is carry on bag of capri sun juice, cheese, bagel , 2 boiled eggs and yogurt. This is our first time to stay in bed and breakfast and it was not a pleasant experience.
Scott was excellent with communication, timeliness, informative, welcoming, and helped with the bikes provided. A few start-up hitches after being closed during most of the pandemic, such as a few more amenities available in the kitchen, as well as still no hot breakfast served (boxed breakfast provided daily). The room was comfortable and clean, as was the rest of the house. Great location to all the fantastic bike trails, so great this BnB has bikes available! Really made our stay.
Close to downtown anchorage. Bus stop right across the street if you don’t want to walk. Park across the street. Hosts were awesome. Nice, cozy little B&B!
Friendly hosts who are from and knowledgeable about the area, excellent food in the mornings—sourdough, plenty of bikes and helmets to ride (and since you’re centrally located, you’ll want to!). Would definitely stay again!
