Clean room, compact but well designed rooms. Open plan style bathroom with toilet in a cupboard style alcove. Breakfast was lovely you can order from the menu on the tables, not just a buffet . Only negative was the amount of pillows. Asked for one more a couple of times but there seems to be a shortage! On the whole a great stay.

Pros: Lovely clean room, comfortable bed, huge bath. Nice toiletries provided. The location was good and in a very safe neighbourhood for a solo female traveller. Cons: For the price I would expect a few things that were not provided. It felt like a nice budget hotel, rather than a boutique/luxury stay which the price tag would suggest. No windows makes the room feel very dark and dingy. The ‘interior view’ is just onto the hallway where people are sitting so does not feel private at all. I had to have the curtains closed at all times so people couldn’t see me sitting in bed as they walk past which made the room feel even darker. The other big issue is the lack of fridge which I find strange, no water provided, and no amenities were topped up during the 4 night stay. Overall unfortunately these details would stop me from staying again, as for the same price you could book somewhere that has the things this hotel is missing. If the price was lower i would be very happy with my stay but I didn’t really feel like the cost was justified for what is provided.

Room was lovely and had everything we needed. Hotel was in a lovely area and was in walking distance to everything we wanted. We love the food hall and independent shops located around the corner. Only negative was the breakfast was the same everyday, it would have been nice if they could have mixed it up a little. Fab stay though and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

This was our third stay at the Hotel de Hallen and honestly not as good as previous visits. The location is still excellent - walking distance to lots of things. But the check in was quite a disappointment. In the past the staff has been helpful and cheerful and happy to take our bags if we are early. This was not the case on the most recent visit. While we did finally get to drop bags, when we came back at the appointed check in time, the staff was not ready and was conducing a long, intense discussion at the desk. Overall, would still recommend. But definitely things have changed since previous visits.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel De Hallen. Thanks to all the cleaning/housekeeping/front desk staff for making our stay so comfortable. I thought the rooms were always so clean when we got back to our rooms in the evening, which really made our stay more relaxing/enjoyable. Breakfast was included with our stay, and we always enjoyed the spread. Please note the layout of the rooms: The bathroom sink is somewhat open to the room, so if someone is sleeping and the other needs to use the washroom light, it lights up the room. The space is a bit intimate, so consider that when travelling with another person. The location was great - we loved how it wasn't hectic and busy, but there was still so much to do in the area, and it's accessible by tram to the downtown core. If you're feeling hungry late at night, you can always pop over to the food hall,​ too.

Amazing hotel in Amsterdam! The rooms were spacious, modern, and exceptionally clean. The breakfast was excellent, offering a great variety of high-quality options. The hotel's location is ideal, with most museums and the historic city center within a comfortable 30-minute walk, making it easy to explore Amsterdam's main attractions on foot. The only downside was the pillows, which were not very comfortable. Other than that, it was an outstanding stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Incredible Location - I mean, it's DIRECTLY WITHIN the FOOD COURT ("DE FOOD HALLEN")... :-) From Tapas to Sushi to Tacos, everything. Great atmosphere! Clean rooms, fancy, good breakfast (not much local food though). Polite reception. Definetly worth a stay!

Unfortunately, the hotel cancelled our week long reservation since we were marked as “no shows” bc we checked in a day later (for some odd reason, our room showed as not ready yet when we tried to check in at 11 am so we left our bags and went about our day only to find out we didn’t have somewhere to sleep later that day). The reservation staff (other than actual reception team) was not helpful and basically said “so sorry, we can’t help you”. No offer to refund us or put somewhere else. They didn’t even offer one free night stay, we had to pay that out of pocket while we figured out what to do. Needless to say, it was a really disappointed way to start our honeymoon! The hotel itself is fine although you have no privacy or reliable wifi if you’re staying on the ground floor. Other than that, the room themselves were fine! Definitely wouldn’t pay more than $250 CAD / night as you could probably find better hotels elsewhere in the city.

Breakfast was included and excellent, great location and staff were helpful. The only downside was house keeping, on the first day our room was cleaned but towels were left on floor and nothing was refreshed e.g tea and coffee but on second day room wasn’t cleaned at all. Friends Leo stayed and had a similar experience. I would go back but it was let down by housekeeping

The hotels location was great, modern and clean facilities. The breakfast had a good selection, our last morning we had a staff member who was not too interested in the guests and their breakfast orders. They were forgotten or ignored completely. Wifi does not work at all, we were in room 119 and it didnt even show up when you searched for it so it didnt reach past that point

Air conditioning doesn't work. Despite multiple complaints nothing was done about it. Incredible stuffy rooms with no circulation. Unfortunate as the rooms were lovely just unable to get a good night's sleep as uncomfortably hot

Sauberes Zimmer Personal ist freundlich frühstück etwas klein aber ausreichend. Zimmer wäre erst um 16:45 gemacht worden. Da waren wir aber schon wieder da um uns auszuruhen daher wurde das Zimmer nicht gereinigt aber ok. Im großem und ganzen für 2 Nächte sehr in Ordnung

Breakfast is fresh and tastes good! Staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are clean and tidy, is only my shower water becomes a bit hot occasionally, so rather than that I am very happy with my stay! The area is nice and quiet, the food hall next door is a gem! even walking distance to the 9th street!
