"the first thing that stuck us was how out of town this type of accommodation is. That applies to all Masseria hotels. The rooms are situated around a pretty courtyard. The rooms are basic and of reasonable size. There are no facilities for making tea/coffee. However, there is a fridge. A small sitting area is outside each room. There is no bar here and the restaurant does not open till 8 pm. the reception can provide wine or coffee. We bought our own beer and kept in in fridge in room....

"Only stayed 1 night as had late flight into Bari airport. Only waited a few minutes for courtesy pick up. Breakfast not great and dining room staff ignored us."

"Great property in an outstanding location near an entrance to the Matera Sassi. Clean rooms and comfortable beds were nice to stay in. In addition to the Sassi access and hotel cleanliness, the breakfast was truly outstanding. It featured a variety of coffees, pastries and fruits along with other breakfast items in an attractive, large dining room. The desk is attended at all times and the building is secured at night. My only mild criticism is better information on parking prior to check in would be a plus. A secured garage is under the hotel and available for $20 Euro per might. I'd stay there again, both for the hotel and the ancient attractions of Matera."

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, The rooms were clean and roomy. I would definitely come back and recommend this to anyone coming to the area."
