The staff is very friendly but you realize that this place is not run like a professional hotel. The service seems to depend on who is currently available. I would not call the place a Spa resort, it is rather a middle class B&B and the photos on the website and at Hotel.com are not accurate. The terrace is nice but the lounge furniture seen on the photos are not available, instead they were replaced with simple and outdated ones. Our room 601 did not have a lock, not even a real door. Instead it was a terrace door that could not be locked at all. Not sure everyone would like to sleep or be away with a room unlocked. The shower and WC are simple but okay, cleanliness is good. The premium bedding advertised on the website is not available, the beds are simple ones with pretty worn out beddings. The view from the terrace is exceptional but there is no way to enjoy the sea.you need to travel to Pie de la Cuesta or downtown. All in all you get what you pay for, the food and drinks served are rather on the expensive side, the same is valid for the parking (95 pesos a day).

Unique hotel
Just 15 away from the public beach. It is an amazing place with ocean view, and a path where you can go down to the ocean.

Fabulous Resort, but One Negative...
My boyfriend & I went to Donde Mira El Sol for a quick weekend getaway from Mexico City. OVERALL: We LOVED this hotel, we definitely will return, & would highly recommend it. PROS: STUNNING! The hotel is gorgeous, incredibly well maintained, & the views are breathtaking. They renovated 1 year ago so everything is fresh & new. Beautiful room with a/c, fan & ocean view. The owners are incredibly gracious & charming. They make you feel right at home. 4 pools to choose from! Each has a unique view of the ocean. Seclusion. No other hotels or resorts nearby, so you completely escape the tourist madness. ONE CON: Our dining experience is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The restaurant was open from 9am - 9pm. We arrived for dinner at 7:20 & were the ONLY guests in the dining area. We waited 25 minutes just for menus, the waiter finally took our order at 8pm. He then instructed us to only order from the "light snack" menu. Frustrated, I asked why, and he said it was because it would take 40 minutes to cook a full dinner. We ordered from the full dinner menu regardless, because this was very unfair to us. The next morning the owner let us pick two fresh caught fish that we would have for lunch (so nice!). When we arrived for lunch at 2:10 we waited and waited, but nobody came to take our order. Since we had a 5-hr drive ahead of us, we couldn't wait any longer. We were very disappointed that we had to check out without eating anything, let alone our specially selected fish.

Seven Days in Paradise
We found everything from the Donde Mira El Sol web site to be factual and true. We arrived late in the evening, well after dark, to find a four course meal with several of the residents and owner waiting for us. You could hear the ocean waves breaking and smell the sea breeze on the terrace where we dinned. The next morning we looked out the window and there it was, the beautiful Pacific Ocean, a view that can be seen from everywhere on the property. Even with the beautiful swimming pools, we took the steps down to the ocean for our first swim. We ate all our meals at Donde Mira El Sol and enjoyed everyone of them trying several new dishes with wonderfully fresh ingredients, no processed foods here! Meals are served mainly at 10:00 am, 4:00 pm and 8:30 pm, somehow this immediately seemed entirely normal, however you may order meals any time between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. The owners, who live on site, and the staff are totally dedicated to making your stay nothing but relaxing and enjoyable. If you are looking for a place to live, or just visit, you will not find a better Senior Living Home. You may find some places equally wonderful, but the financial cost will be much greater. As a vacation spot, Donde Mira is also a wonderful hotel. We are already planning to winter at Donde Mira El Sol next year or perhaps become permanent residents. In one week we made life long friends!

La propiedad no es mala pero hay una señorita en recepción de piel clara que te atiende de malas, incluso se le pidió un vaso de agua y rechazó el mismo pedimento, además de que estaba molesta todo el tiempo.

Lugar complicado para personas con limitaciones al caminar, terrible el acceso al estacionamiento, no venden agua, refrescos, papas o algo sencillo para comer. La persona que hizo el check in, poco atenta, no nos dio opciones donde podríamos conseguir agua embotellada o algo para cenar pues llegamos como a las 20:00 hrs pero ella si tomaba lo que parecía una piña colada. La regadera con un chorrito de agua pues no servía y le hicieron solo un pequeño orificio como de 5 mm, las toallas súper desgastadas y muy delgadas por el uso. Reservamos dos noches y queríamos amaneciera para poder salir de ahí según tendrían desayunos y el lugar que me imagino era la cocina y lo que servía de comedor muy insalubres ya a la luz del día . Invitó al Propietario estar más pendiente de su negocio, entiendo que acaba de sucederles lo de Otis por ello no mencionó que el televisor y el internet no estaban en funciones y se entiende pero todo lo demás no creo que se justifique o tenga que ver con el huracán. Gracias por su atención

La habitación que nos toco tiene muy bonita vista al mar pero deberían mejorar la limpieza, muebles, mantener mas limpias las albercas y en general todo el hotel, tiene potencial de ser muy bueno pero les hace falta visión, para solo llegar a dormir esta muy bien, para querer pasar todo el día ahí no lo recomiendo, además que no se especifica que es en Acapulco tradicional casi por pie de la cuesta y que no está a 7 min de papagayo, esta como a 15-20 min de papagayo.

Le hace falta mucho mantenimiento, algunas veces se va la luz y por lo tanto el agua. No sirve el elevador. La vista es muy agradable. Si quieres llegar a dormir, un lugar donde puedas estar con tu mascota y quedarte un par de noches sin exigir mucho, es un buen lugar.

Terrible hotel instalaciones deterioradas y viejas su aire acondicionado jala x ratos el acceso para vehículos está horrible el estacionamiento es una grosería nada recomendable para vehículos solo pueden ingresar camionetas sin resibir daños la atención pesima y grosera solo los vigilantes son atentos las habitaciones sucias de inicio no se peribe que tan mal está pero después cuido intentas relajarte no enfría el clima no sale agua caliente no prende la TV no cierran las chapas y no atienden tu situaciones

Estan en la peor zona de acapulco. Tienen un "estacionamiento" en una contruccion destruida, sin guardia sin luz, un paraiso para los robacoches y lo cobran. Una verguenza el foco del baño estaba caido solamente se sostenia por los cables.
