「Hotel is in a good location, ample parking. It's a stately building fairly well maintained, though the elevator access on floor 1 is hindered by the carpeting that restricts the door from opening. Yes you have to manually open the door to access the 50 + year old elevator and make sure it doesnt swallow any body part when the door closes, very cool. The food in the attached restaurant/ pub was good, though the service was hindered by only 1 person doing everything, hotel check in and restaurant...

He then got more annoyed that he didn't have the right number for me because he mixed me up with a different lodger. 「Lovely twin room dual aspect window with biscuits, tea and coffee. En-suite was a little small as knees touched the door when on the toilet, but I’d rather have one than not at all. Nice surprise to have a full cooked breakfast with fruit and cereal, rather than just continental as it says in the blurb.」
