Today it is an interesting little city full of catholic, jewish and arabian history, as the three religions have lived here side by side. The old city has lots of it's medieval charm left, and the best thing to do it get lost on the narrow side streets. Toledo is an easy 30 min train ride away from Madrid and a perfect day trip destination.
