"The most amazing stay. The kitchen excelled with all our food allergies and nothing was too much trouble for them. We saw wild Orangutans near the lodge. Only 4 rooms, so quiet and less mosquitoes than those places on the river. I loved my stay and highly recommend to others."

First 2 boat trips were disappointing - didn't see much except same monkeys who hang around camp. 3rd saw orangutans and crocodiles. 4th saw whole herd of pygmy elephants with calves on riverbank and swimming. "Only that some chalets were quite a long walk uphill to get to them so you needed to be fit but otherwise a lovely place to stay and staff so helpful and couldn’t do enough for you "

"We stayed at an alternate property because the advertised one wasn’t ready. However, the owner notified us well in advance. The condo was quiet and the air conditioning worked. We only had 2 towels for 4 people. For the price paid it was a good value and not too far from the airport. Good as a jumping off point for our tour"

"We only had a one night stay as a stop over, the hotel is clean and convenient for what we wanted. It’s an old hotel with some nice old features. Rooms were nice and big and comfortable. A good breakfast was included in the price. "

"This property is in a great location and has great staff, with good working air con but unfortunately that’s where for us the good points end. We were in room S1 and whilst it could be a fab room, it’s worn and dangerous. We had to get a draft excluder on the door to stay mozzys coming in, the sink in the bathroom was coming off the wall when we arrived, the bunk beds creaked badly all night and worst of all, the shower had bare electrical wires on the unit by the shower head. We didn’t sleep...

"No lift"

"Here you get a small cheap room with not much nearby. Couldn’t find a beer at night. The small room was clean and the staff were nice. There’s no lift/elevator so if you’re on the 2nd floor or higher it’s just up and down the stairs. No phone in the room so every time you have a question for the front desk you have to go down the 2 or 3 flights of stairs. I was just there 1 night so it wasn’t much of a problem. Not sure what else is available in Lahad Datu."

On four occasions we had random people enter our room without knocking, which was not okay. Once guy even got cross with us and said we should have locked the door.
