The weather in the Willamette Valley of Oregon had been less than ideal for eclipse viewing for a few days, thick clouds were rolling in in the mornings and haze from wildfires took up the skies in the afternoon. Luckily, the gods heard our prayers and we had clear blue skies in the morning on Eclipse Day. Seeing the sky go dark and stars that we'd only see in the winter was an experience of a lifetime. "The room was very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant dinner was very good. The breakfast wasn’t great, not much more than continental. There were “cheap” biscuits and gravy, wish they were better, and I wish there had been scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage. Very nice location on the river. I would stay here again but go elsewhere for breakfast. "
