East Rocks 3 Stars Hotels

"We were told our room was ready to check in but when we got to our room the cleaning people were still cleaning. We had to wait 30 min in our car before being able to unpack. The room was worn down. The room had no trash bags in any of the trash cans. There were parts of the room such as the transition piece from the rug to the tile being busted off. The outside of the room was kind of dumpy. The stairs and balcony walkway area were coming apart. Not impressed with the $25.00 / day charge for beach towels and chairs. The website says towels are included. To get a new towel you have to return the used onne to the front desk. There were limited umbrellas at the pool. The resort website offers rental bikes but it doesnt tell you that in order for the bike rental place to deliver the bikes you have to rent for a 3 day minimum. You have to drive to the bike rental place to actually rent a bike. This was our first visit to Sanibel Island and this resort. We would not recommend this resort and will not be returning in the future. Extremely disappointed. "

"The room we stayed in needed updating The bathroom light flickered the whole time we were there I asked for a new light and we never got one. The bathroom door the hinges were so rusted that the door did not shut all the way and you had to slam it shut and then pull it to open it. The blow dryer that was provided fell apart on me the first day I used it and it was totally rusted. I asked for a new blow dryer and I never got that. The other thing you need to remember is the rooms are right above or right by the tiki bar they have music every night which is very loud so you’re awake all night until the music ends and the bar doesn’t close until two so again, you have all the noise from the people. I will probably never stay at the lighthouse again."

"We had originally booked 2 nights. We left early the following morning, even tho we'd paid already. Green algae/slime coating the primary window. The secondary window looked rough; as if it had been broken at some point and poorly replaced. The pillows were quite flimsy so bring your own from home. The comforter on the bed is super thick and heavy; just perfect for Vermont, but here in FL!!??? TOO HOT. Offer cotten blankets, please. I used only the thin sheet, which was uncomfortable and chilly so I barelyslept. We did not interact with the staff, other than to check in and out, which was normal. The breakfast was also disappointing, there was no attendant even tho it was 9 and supposed to be available until 10; it seemed they were just letting things run out. People were eating the hot food items available, and looked to be enjoying it. The coffee was good, and there were a variety of roasts. The juice was mostly flavored water. We did not visit the amenities, but the general location of this property is good, and very close to the islands."
