"This was a very mixed stay. We loved Rio but could not recommend the hotel.
1. Check in staff - they were so very rude. Just a reminder not to under estimate that not all travellers do not speak your language. The check in staff, including the manager were so rude - enough to consider if we would stay. Their laughing at customers is unacceptable. The staff member who checked us out was.loveky - thank you for your professionalism.
2. Rooms - rooms are fine. Great air conditioning. We requested a quiet room but got placed inbetween a party who had 4 rooms. They slammed the doors and ran between rooms for up to 3 hours. There is no free coffee in the rooms. They charge £14 for each nespresso - just be aware. We were out each day by 7am and ready for a shower by 4pm. Rio is hot! The rooms are not cleaned until 5pm. There is no shower gel provided in this 5 star superior hotel, just a bar of soap.
The neighborhood needs to be treated with care.
Breakfast is great. Waiters lovely. Pool looks unclean. Smoking allowed by pool even though notices say tgat it is not. Hopefully a fair and balanced review.
