"Room is fine but lack privacy. CCTVs monitoring guests outside door and inside. Great seafront with waves 30 metres away but the 8 Dec 2025 earthquake (and advisory for tsunami) struck when we were preparing to rest. Had to walk far to get to mainroad. Have to balance between seafront living with safety."

"函館競馬場の徒歩圏内（15分くらい）だったので宿泊しました。温泉宿でありながら１人での宿泊もOKでした。 玄関、ロビーも広くて綺麗でした。 客室も綺麗で１人で使うには広すぎるくらいでした。 スタッフの方々も丁寧な対応をして頂き大変気持ちの良いホテルでした。 又、函館に旅行の際は利用したいです。"

"It’s a old ryokan passed it prime time. It’s basically not bad, but is old and run down. Maybe the Covid period made it worse as the condition of the ryokan deteriorated further without upgrades. Service is good. Far away from city center but there’s shuttle bus."
