We loved the North Block. Everything about it was wonderful - the location, the property, the food and the people. I want to call out the wonderful people working at the front desk - Jackson and Brian. They were beyond helpful in providing recommendations and treating us like special visitors.

It was a great total experience. The room was perfect. Gas fireplace and Pictureframe TV were cool and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk was very helpful and we enjoyed the Welcome wine, the happy hour at the restaurant, the over the top continental breakfast and the night cap whisky. Will definitely return for a longer stay.

Wow - great experience my wife & I had staying here. Exceptional staff, lovely room. Complimentary wine on arrival, complimentary cocktail with dinner, and complimentary whiskies to finish the evening (by the fire). Amazing. We were only overnight with a check out at 11am. As we didn't need to leave for SFO until 4.30pm that day, we were so grateful to have full use of the Hotel's facilities all day. We used the complimentary bicycles to do a wine trail, then came back to relax around the pool (with yet another complimentary glass of bubbles), before showering and changing to head off to the airport. Superb.

The hotel is really nice but note that while they say they have 20 boutique rooms, they actually sell an additional 4 rooms which are basically apartments with far less nice furnishings and finishes. There are no photos of these rooms on their site or here on Expedia, so it feels shady that they sell them under the radar. They originally put me in one of these rooms, and they are absolutely not worth the $800/night I spent. They moved me, but beware- they still sell these rooms, do not advertise these rooms, don’t tell you before hand, and they are NOT up to a 2 Michelin key standard.
