The hotel was very nice, however we had a toilet that would not flush, they sent maintenance the next day and tried to tell us a fix to make it work as they needed to call a plumber to truly fix it. However the fix did not work, they finally moved us to another room the third day, it was a pain to repack to move down a floor. Other than that, it was nice and so was the staff. Breakfast was nice.

Nice room clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Staff friendly nice bar and lounge. Breakfast was lovely good choice and prompt service. Carpark was full but free parking in road outside of hotel so we were able to park up for two days. Lovely gardens at front of hotel with seating. We are definitely going to be returning next year. A real gem. Photos on their website are just as it was.

Like all the little seating areas in the communal area downstairs. Big twin room, comfy beds. Very clean. Great breakfast. Hot shower. Friendly staff. Some traffic noise from the road but not too bad. Pretty garden area to the front of the property.

The location is not very near to the centre but it’s still manageable for a 20-minute walk. There’re also some restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. The parking lot is at the rear of the lodge. Don’t trust Google Maps which would direct you to the front. We got a room on ground floor and I could park the car just outside the room. It saved us efforts of moving our luggages. The full breakfast was excellent though it lacked black pudding of traditional full English one.

Great location and at a reasonable price, just a short walk from the city centre with the added bonus of free parking. Spacious room and bathroom but if you did want to watch tv, this was miniscule. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very nice. The staff here were so friendly and helpful especially on reception. Would certainly return.
