Experience in summer time

No wifi in the room maybe we stay in the last room of the restaurant, also no air conditioner and just a small fan provided, so is quite hot during summer time. However the staff are nice and helpful.

優: 酒店對面是YORK教堂, 非常近; 市中心內, 附近有不少商店食肆及景點; 酒店裝飾好復古, 好漂亮; 少數酒店房內內有熨斗及熨斗牌提供; 有一張藤製搖搖椅, 好好玩^^; 洗手間連浴室十分大; 員工熱心友善, 可以提早寄存行李, 及會幫忙拎行李上房; 早餐非常好食, 餐廳環境裝飾好好漂亮. 缺: 下午3點後才可check in *可以提早寄存行李 樓下是餐廳及Bar, 晚上比較多人, 會有少少嘈

We had a great stay here and we loved the theme of the inn! The room was clean and well decorated and the staff are great also the food served here is delicious. The one sore spot is the shower temperature control doesn’t work so couldn’t have a warm shower all weekend.

Perfect location opposite York Minster but unfortunately we had scaffolding outside our window totally obscuring the view, we were not made aware of this and having a view of the Minster was why we booked, very disappointed.

I know its a very old building but I don’t think it could be more non disabled friendly if it tried. Steps in, no disabled toilets, double flights of stairs to bedroom. Big step into shower. Lots of noise from other residents and york Minster bells in the morning. Staff were great though. Food exquisite. Room very hot and no way to open windows up fully.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Not the quietest hotel but shortly after 11 pm, it became quiet enough to sleep. One very old piece of furniture (armoire) in our room had its door fall off after it was opened, hanging on by a very thin nail.

Fantastic quirky room the bed had quite a slope to it but loved the room slight grumble the shower was not over hot but perfectly acceptable. The breakfast was really good both mornings, the pub itself was very popular so not a place for a quiet drink but we will definitely go back

On arriving it was tricky to locate the Property as Scaffolding is covering the front of the building, which wasnt the best first impression for a night away with my wife and I think this should have been clear when booking. Given the selection in York I would have picked another hotel had I known. Staff were very friendly. The room was nice and the bed great. When we arrived back at the property we realised the windows weren't locked and one of the windows can't be locked, which combined with the Scaffolding isn't ideal and made my wife nervous when going to bed. The pub, especially below room 4, was loud until 0030, so it wouldn't be good for anyone wanting an early night. Plug socket beside bed is faulty and the kettle didn't switch off causing boiling water to spill out over clothes and belongings on the table. Check out is 1100, but we were woke by kitchen/ bar noises, singing, at around 0800, so a lay in wasnt on the cards. Breakfast was great and I would eat there again.

Room was beautiful and well decorated for the age of the building. We were on the top floor so be prepared for wonky stairs. Main floor is lively with patrons but noise did not carry - was loud outside with music til 11pm and guests dining but we had our window open to be fair and we did not mind it at all. Bed was comfortable and staff was very helpful - great location beside York Minster and walkability score excellent. Highly recommend!
