"Arrived late at our stay and then realised that we had in fact booked for the weekend after! Disaster after a 6 hour drive and very little options. We apologised and explained the error to our host. Amazingly and also luckily the host immediately went to work setting up an alternative glamping pod for us to stay in. The place was immaculate, hosts are extremely friendly and everything about the trip was perfect and as described. We will certainly be returning."

The instructions to find the key were terrible! it says get them from a key safe padlocked to the front railings at the front of the house and they were at the back, attached to the house. "We stayed at Waterland Farm as a family of 9 (plus 1 dog) for a long weekend break and it was brilliant. The house is very spacious with lots of facilities, including a toy room for the kids, a PS /x-box and old-school vinyl record player. The outdoor area is massive and the kids loved the football goal and playground. As it states the field isn’t secure for a dog as there are open areas but she still enjoyed a run around. Overall a great place to stay and we would return! "

"Lovely hotel. In the centre of Barnstaple and plenty of parking. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We were on a cycling trip on the Tarka Trail ..hotel has very useful indoor rear area with cycle racks to secure your bike during your stay. Fantastic."

"We stayed in the Westbeach apartments for 3 nights during the summer holidays. We had a 3 bed apartment for our family of 4, plus my father in law. The apartment was spacious and really comfortable. Beds were comfy and clean. Kitchen/lounge layout is always a win for us as we love open plan. The balcony from the living room and master bedroom was just lovely. Shower/bathroom was fab with lovely shower. Everything to a fairly high spec. We read the sad story behind the development of the apartments, but amazing that they managed to get them finished! The half finished building next to Westbeach is an absolute eyesore. One night we did see what looked like homeless people sleeping in there, but honestly it didn't bother us and it's no ones fault that it's been left in that state. It took us quite a while to find the apartment! But that's likely more on us and our navigation skills than anyone else's fault! We parked right by the apartment which was hassle free and fine for our tall campervan. We were right in the hustle and bustle of westward ho and it was lovely. Would use the apartments again- they were lovely, thank you :-)"

"We stayed six nights and enjoyed it immensely. There is a real homely feeling to the hotel. There were a few niggles but you get them wherever you go. The staff were polite, friendly and most attentive. The bar and restaurant were more than satisfactory and the heated outdoor pool was a brilliant addition. We will definitely be going back especially since my partners friend is residing in Bideford now and we will happily reserve a room at Durant House Hotel whenever we visit."
