If it's your first time traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic, you'll notice plenty of new rules and restrictions in place. Take note of these tips and make your getaway to Wolf Island NWR go off without a hitch:

• Before locking in your flight, check if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by checking government websites.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to temporarily lower your mask to verify your identity.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Rather, you should place the pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag for X-ray screening.
• Empty everything from your pocket, such as your phone, keys and wallet, and put them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
