「We had a wedding in the area and this place was perfect for our needs. There’s a bar to the front of the property, which was fun to hang out and play pool. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.」

「The room had a musty odor. We were in one of two occupied rooms, so it was very quiet except for road noise. The outside could use some sweeping to get rid of cobwebs around the windows and door. To be fair, the owner’s son has his hands full running the place and working his own job while the owners recuperate from an accident. The son was quite nice and he provided a good continental type breakfast. The location was good for us.」

「The hotel is clean and the service is good, but the soundproofing is not very good」

「We had a nice stay at the Black Bear. Great location and Kim was very accommodating.」

「Check in was very pleasant. The room was so sweet with lots of personal touches you don’t normally see. Real tea/coffee cups, real spoons not plastic! A tablecloth and placemats on the dining table. A real live plant in the room. Etc. It was very homey. Staff very warm and friendly. I’d stay there again!」

「Booked for two nights, left after one. The room was fine- clean, no funky smells, clean bathroom newer mattresses and HVAC. As a solo female traveler, I just didn’t feel great about the location, lack of on-site staff, and door locks. A no-frills, roadside motel was not for me, but could be fine for you.」
