The apartment was lovely though, looks like it's been recently refurbished and was very clean and comfortable. 「The main road is noisy until the traffic dies down later on in the evening. The metal framed windows, even when shut, let through a high volume of road traffic noise. It was a period of unusually high temperatures by day and night when we stayed and the room we stayed in was in the loft space and therefore really warm and so the windows had to be kept open most of the time. 「I didn’t exactly know what I was letting myself in for when I booked into The Shepherd’s Lodge but it was actually a pleasant experience and it provided exactly what I was looking for i.e. a comfortable place to lay my head at night and have a cup of tea and few quiet hours after a long day at a Folk Music Festival.
