This guesthouse is in the center of the city. It’s clean and well maintained. Parking is easy at the front of the guesthouse. Check-in time was 2 pm but I didn’t get check in code until 2:20.

Lava Guesthouse is well-located in the centre of Westman Island and has basically all the amenities required. There are enough bathrooms for all the guests and those are clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and sheets clean. The blackout blind in the bedroom was not super effective however. The kitchen is quite good. Modern, clean and stocked with basics. Especially good was the dishwasher, and also some hot chocolate powder we found which hit the spot on a cold afternoon.

We stayed in Room 2, on the ground floor and had a private bathroom. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Very convenient location to restaurants and shopping. Despite being on the ground floor next to the road, it was fairly quite at night.

Hotel is in a great location on the beautiful island. Very comfortable and very friendly host. Kitchen available with a Bonus around the corner. You found the best place to stay.

What a guesthouse stay should be.

For a guesthouse/shared kitchen this was perfect stay. Everything was simple with check in, owners were present and friendly, kitchen was well stocked with plates utensils. Bathrooms were clean and were 2 per floor.

We stayed in the family room with the priate bathroom. Its on the first floor and was a lovely room with a modern bathroom. Its right next to the kitchen, but its alsp on the ground floor so you may hear some noise from the upstairs guests. This guesthouse is right next to Gott, which is a FABULOUS restaurant at which we dined for both lunch and dinner. It's within a few blocks of a pharmacy and one of the hiking trailheads.

Cute guest house, affordable and simple.

While the area doesn't have a lot of accommodations to choose from, staying at Lava Guesthouse was a great fit for us. The location is great for the downtown walking area, and is walkable from the ferry. If you do bring a car over, there was plenty of available street parking in front of or around the block. The room was as photographed. The shared bathrooms are small, two exist with showers and another is just a toilet. As long as you aren't trying to get ready at the same time as other guests, it's not a problem. We visited in July and it doesn't really get dark. It would have been nice to have better light-blocking curtains or sleep masks provided to keep the light out, but it was an issue easily solved for my partner by having him sleep with a towel over his eyes. Note most rooms are upstairs. We didn't use the kitchen but it did appear well stocked if you were staying multiple days and wanting to keep food costs down. The house asks that you remove your shoes just inside the main door, so that could be an issue for some people but it meant you didn't have as much noise from other guests walking around the hallways.

it is right in the center of this beautiful small town on the island of Westman. The room was spacious since we booked a family room. It was on the first floor but was very quiet at night. The kitchen was really nice with everything you need. You could walk everywhere from this place. We took the host's recommendation: We went to the town pool that has 3 hot tubs and an indoor swimming pool as well as a steam room. We also went to the next door Gott for dinner. A great place to stay if you want to visit this wonderful island.
