The property looks great inside and out. And, when I arrived, Brendan was very welcoming. He answered a few questions I had, and helped me with canceling the parking reservation which I ended up not needing.
Speaking of which, that's the only issue I encountered, although it won't detract from the 5-star rating. The online reservation / check-in process, although mostly convenient, was clunky. When I originally tried to confirm the night before, it asked if I wanted to add parking. I selected yes, but it never gave me confirmation. I did it again later, on the day of, and it confirmed. However, when I finally arrived, Brendan said it said I made two parking reservations. He was able to cancel them both but said it may show up on my credit card as purchased, then cancelled, then purchased again and then cancelled again. I haven't checked yet, but as long as I don't get charged in the end, I'm okay with it.
I didn't spend much time in the room, as I was busy all day / night, and only slept and showered. But, the room was very nice looking and clean and comfortable. Overkill on the pillows though (4 super puffy sleep pillows and 2 decorative pillows).
All in all, the place was nice, and shout out to Brendan for the friendly / professional service. I will be booking this place again the next time I'm going to be in the area.
The staff went over and above from check in, kind greetings every time we came and went, and even called after we’d checked out to enquire about our stay and wish us a safe trip home. The room was gorgeous clean and so comfort, and the garden patio was stunning. The location is supreme, 5 minute walk to English Bay beach, lots of dining and cafes etc. I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone!
The Como is located in a very desireable West End of Vancouver close to the harbor, on a quiet residential street, just one block from a main travel corridor full of many interesting ethnic restaurant options and conveneient to the downtown. The rooms are very tastefully fit out, with all amenities in great condition. Staff is extremely helpful. An excellent downtown Vancouver hotel option.
