The photos do not do this beautiful hotel justice. It is beautiful in a beautiful tiny town on the top of a mountain. Our dinner was wonderful. We feel very lucky to have found this gem!

The hotell did not open before 1500.

There was no information regarding the opening hours. We tryed to make contakt between 1415 - 1445 nobody answerd. We returned to Rome - wasted money.

Loved Vacri

If you are looking for a comfy place to stay, with great scenery, this is the place. It is in a little village - Vacri. You can see the snow on the alps and the Adriatic; ancient towns; fantastic valleys - it is all here. Be sure to visit the café just up the hill. We enjoyed our 2 Italian dinners in-house - well done! During our 3 weeks in Italy, our 2 nights at the Locanda del Vecchio Borgo will always be considered a highlight!

Awesome Host!

Donatello was an awesome host, we felt at home, he was so accommodating and friendly. We had dinner there twice, absolutely outstanding! Food was incredible, we wished we could have stayed longer. A definite must stay when you are in the area.

Beautiful location, great service

Due to an error in communication between Hotels.com and the proprietor, we had trouble accessing the hotel - we were not expected, and no one was there when we arrived. But friendly locals helped us out, and the friendly helpful owner soon arrived, was extremely apologetic, and all was fine. The room (2 separate bedrooms, small bathroom, lounge area) was spacious, though sparsely furnished. The rural view, including snow-capped mountains, was beautiful, and the tiny village of Vacri was delightful. Great breakfast too.

breve soggiorno ma piacevole

Località e struttura molto suggestive. Zona molto tranquilla, ricca di vegetazione. Luogo ideale per il relax, lontano dal frastuono cittadino. Camere pulite e curate nei dettagli, così come l'intera struttura. L'unica pecca la distanza di circa 30/40 minuti per raggiungere il Parco della Majella ed il mare.

Da evitare sicuramente con il caldo.......

Appena arrivati non c'era nessuno e abbiamo dovuto aspettare 10 minuti che venissero ad aprire dietro telefonata. Non si tratta di una camera sola ma di un monolocale formato da un ingresso/saloncino con balcone, un bagno ed una camera. L'ingresso/saloncino è spazioso e confortevole il bagno minuscolo e la doccia strettissima. La camera da letto è appena poco più grande del letto. Noi abbiamo avuto la sfortuna di capitare nel periodo di afa e dato che tutto l'edificio è esposto a sud fa un caldo terribile e non c'è aria condizionata (non sperate di dormire). In compenso ci sono le zanzare e non le zanzariere. La colazione meglio farla al bar sulla piazzetta soprastante. Il paesino è bello e caratteristico ed il panorama è ottimo. Il proprietario molto distaccato e distratto e anche maleducato dato che prima della partenza prevista per le 11 si è permesso di suonare alla porta un'ora prima con la signora delle pulizie che "premeva" per entrare.........

Wonderful hotel

Rooms (suites?) large and comfortable. View from balcony nothing short of magnificent. Food excellent, owners helpful and friendly. If you're in the area stay in this great hotel in a lovely village.

Village atmosphere

Not sure how we came to locate this hotel on our travels, as it is certainly off the beaten track. We found ourselves in a hilltop village on a one night stop over on our way south (travelling as a family of 5). The staff were friendly, our room was clean, spacious and had beautiful views from the bedrooms. A continental breakfast was included. We ate at the village pizzeria and found the locals warm and inviting. It was a lovely stopover and if you find yourself over near the Pescara coast then stay over for a night.
