The hotel is basic, we did not try the breakfast so can't comment on that, there is a small lobby where people seem to gather for beer sold at the front desk, the elevators can get overwhelmed at "rush hours" so that the waits are too much and you walk down the stairs. "We stayed in a separate place a short walk from the hotel. A beautiful, large living room with a gorgeous view of the water. Loved how quiet it was there and the walkability of the town to go eat dinner. Would need a car to drive to other towns instead of taking a train but I can't really give opinion on train accessibility since we had a car."
