Room was lovely and spacious. Gardens are beautiful. Paths around are cracked uneven and it didn’t seem super clean. Room was clean. The location is central but Ubud is so busy now and dirty etc that impacted on the feel of the stay.

4 nuits dans une « villa » avec un petit jardin privatif Une climatisation propre (je précise car dans l hôtel précédent la climatisation envoyait une odeur de moisie et de l humidité )qui fonctionne très bien sans forcer. Personnel très gentil et restaurant appréciable. Nous avons subi pour la dernière nuit un gros orage mais à part le réveil de quelques grenouilles qui se sont mis à chanter pour fêter la pluie aucune fuite aucun désagrément. Le seul petit regret c est que le SPA était en travaux avec des chambres du même bâtiment sans occasionner de genes. Çe ne fut pas difficile de trouver un lieu se faire masser à quelques mètres de l entrée de l hôtel. Nous reviendrons au le,e endroit collé base à Ubud

We returned again for the 4th time

This was our 4th stay at Barong. It is starting to look tired and in need of a refurb. They have started but have some way to go. Having said that our room with a pool was very nice and the location is awesome. Will probably not stay agin until after refurb unless price drops to reflect

Don't waste your time and money

1.We booked 5 rooms next to each other by the pool. When we arrived one was not available and the room provided was at the other end of the hotel. 2. The hotel was under construction in the pool area which we were not advised before our stay. The work included jack hammering from 8am until 6 pm right next to 4 of the rooms windows making it intolerable to relax in our rooms. We asked for room changes upon arrival and were denied. The pool was unusable because it was cluttered with concrete, dust and debris. 3.The tv in 2 rooms did not work. In room 1 the hotel people exchanged the tv 3 times until they got a functioning one which was very small compared to what was advertised. There were 4 people in this room and on the 3rd attempt they did rewiring work . This took 5 hours on and off over the course of the day making the room unusable because it was full of workmen. I thought they would have at least give another room at this point but no. 4. When the jackhammers finally stopped about an hour later the band from the restaurant was so loud that there was still no peace to be had. If not for the constant noise during the day and the steady stream of workers right outside our windows this would have been tolerated but with everything else going on it was just too much. 5. The staff were unhelpful and didn't try to compensate at all with any fee reduction or meal vouchers. 6. The pictures on this sight were not a true representation of what we encountered.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time! The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and spacious. Location was perfect, right on Monkey Forest Road Restaurants and shops were all in easy walking distance. We will definetly be back!

Loved the central location, convenience to a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. Ubud Palace, the monkey sanctuary and the Campuhan Ridge walk were all within walking distance. The room was beautifully appointed and the private pool a Godsend being in the centre of town. The downside of the ideal location with close proximity to bars and cafes, is that the live music from a couple of them was so loud, we couldn't hear the TV. Lucky for noise curfew at 11pm. The novelty of the monkeys using our roofs and the nearby tin roof as a playground wore off pretty quickly too.

1st time in Bali

Very cute, jungle vibes. Lots of stones and steps. The bungalow room was amazing. The bathroom was so spacious. The bed was very comfortable. I wasnt a fan of the wooden platform under the bed. I scraped my legs several times. In 48 hours, the internet only worked for about 10 hours. I was told it affected the area, but Im still in Ubud and the internet works here. Neighborhood bars are so loud, I thought the music was coming from the hotel. Not recommended for light sleepers, but it is pretty peaceful.
