Muy buena atención del hotel. Esta alejado de Tulum, llegamos temprano y de igual manera entramos a check-in esperando 20mins, el agua sale caliente (cosa que no me habia pasado en otros hoteles) el wifi va bien, buena electricidad, cama comoda!, somos mexicanos y quisimos conocer el mar caribeño, nos toco sargazo pero eso no empeoro la experiencia. Para moverte necesitas Taxi pero la misma recepción te ayuda, hay tienda cerca caminando y un cenote donde hay un cocodrilo, el agua es de piedras no es de arena normal pero igual te dan gratis calzado y chaleco! Puedes ir en kayak si esta desocupado, a nosotros nos limpiaron diariamente la habitación y super bien, la vista es hermosa. Pedimos la habitación con piscina y aunque hacia frio (por el clima) pudimos disfrutarla aunque las albercas del hotel no tanto por el frio. Hay dos hoteles vecinos donde puedes pasear ahi si tienen restaurante y muelle (eso me gusto porque puedes pasear por la playa) la vista es innegable. Llega mucho viento y se sigue sintiendo calientito dependiendo la temporada, es Febrero y comentan que se adelantó mucho el sargazo pero de verdad no empeora mucho porque puedes ir por el muelle. Es buen hotel, si quieres algo alejado de Tulum es tu opción, es un hotel comodo porque de verdad habia muchos que tenias que compartir el baño y la ducha, a mi me gusta la privacidad por eso este hotel me parecio 10/10, solo el tema es el movimiento por la zona sino rentaste transporte

The rooms were excellent and very clean. There was no restaurant open on the property. They can improve by including that in their description or letting guest know in advance. The water pump also broke for the day while being there. They were accommodating by letting us use a room near the hotel to go shower and use the bathroom in the mean time. However, we did have to walk out of our hotel to the next with our things. Once again, not their fault but very frustrating and inconvenient. You definitely need a car to get around if you are looking to get around the area to do restaurants, cenotes or walks in the city center.

Terrible service. Reception was largely unhelpful to me as well as the other guests. One could not even secure a simple fork. When I arrived, the lock on balcony door was broken and had to be fixed on two separate occasions.

The staff were amazing and the rooms I would rate as a 2- 3 star. … we paid over $800 for a 2 night stay. The amenities were scarce coffee / tea etc.The fridge was warm/ no restaurants / bar/ coffee shop on site but rather you were directed to what were identified as Sister sites for dinner/drinks away from the resort. The beach is very small and not at all what we expected . It’s a hotel that needs some serious updating the hot tub and pools were unusable during our stay as the water appeared to be stagnant. I don’t normally write negative reviews but we were very disappointed in our stay at Alea Tulum and would not recommend it for fellow travellers, particularly at this price

We had a lovely vacation at Alea Tulum with our 5 and 8 year old. The ocean view was breathtaking and we thoroughly enjoyed the pools as a family, beach walks, sea kayaking and use of snorkels, life jackets and water shoes to explore and visit cenotes. The room was perfect, and the front desk staff made us feel welcome and were very kind and helpful for anything we needed. We rented a car and enjoyed Alea Tulum as our home base for adventures. Thank you Samantha and the other Alea staff for a beautiful stay!

This property is way overpriced, it looks nothing like the pictures . The room had small ant like bugs all over the floor, the last day and a half the rooms smelled like sewage in three out of the five rooms our party reserved. The hotel sales its location as a hotel with two restaurants and a bar. Hotel Alea has neither on premises ( they are located a their sister properties instead). We booked a sky view room and expected to have the experience i. the pictures. The plunge pool was DISGUSTINGLY dirty along with other pools on that property. That is NOT wha I paid for and spending your hard in money to have access to this private pool on your deck is what i paid for . Pieces of the building fell off into the main pool.

El baño no servía, la regadera tampoco, no había restaurante y había que ir a otro hotel a comer un desayuno con dos opciones, la alberca estaba sucia, el mobiliario de la playa viejo y todo a un precio altísimo, no proporcionado a la calidad. Fatal, cero recomendando. El gerente dijo que era porque se trataba de un hotel boutique, pero olvidó decir que de mala calidad. Cuando mi esposo dijo que nos queríamos ir antes y solicitó su reembolso, lo acusaron de alboroto y amenazaron con llamar a la policía.

Tout d'abord, a notre arrivée nous avons ete informé que l'hôtel était fermé pour réparation. Nous sommes decue que Expedia n'en savait rien...donc pas été en mesure de nous aider avant. On nous a transféré dans l'hôtel Mereva (4-5 HOTELs plus loin). A notre avis, le Mereva n'est pas aussi luxueux et aménagé. Durant notre séjour au Mereva, nous avons manqué de l'eau à tous les jours (toilette slush et douche difficile) le personnel faisait comme si ce n'étais pas connu le probleme d'eau. Le service pour répondre à nos questions etait Moyen. Finalement, nous avons manqué d'Internet durant, une journée. L'eau de la piscine etait brouillée donc peu invitant à se baigner. Finalement la mer est difficile d'accès car il y a beaucoup de roches et d'algues. Expedia nous a dédommager par un petit coupon 50$! Alors quune nuitee etait de 200$

We did not stay at Alea but at Nerea a sister property. Nerea is amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are amazing, and the drinks were excellent! The staff were wonderful!! Thank you Sergio and Jesus!! We hope to see you again soon!

This hotel is currently closed and I received no notification of this, hotel accepted my reservation and is still accepting reservations for tonight. I turned up to a locked door, found my way down a side alley onto the beach and into the hotel and it was like a ghost town, really scary as a solo female traveller. There was no sign on the door to say it was closed either. Tried calling hotel phone number and no answer either. I thought on my feet and made my way down the severely potholed road to the sister hotel Nerea where they told me I had been rebooked. I was really shaken up by the whole experience and very lucky I had my own vehicle or I would have been stranded. I tried on multiple occasions to speak to hotel management and was continually fobbed off and told they were out of town. I travel all over the world on a regular basis and have never experienced anything like this. I can’t believe both Expedia and Alea itself are still accepting reservations for this place. DO NOT BOOK, it’s a scam.
