"Our waitress Thảo was superb in welcoming us & taking care of us at every meals during our entire stay. She was attentive and caring, introducing us to all the Ha Long Bay specialties. Thảo, Asst. Manager Trung and Chef Hữu went out of their way to prepare special Hạ Long squid dishes for us to try, making our stay very memorable. The entire Grand Pioneers 1 crew was very friendly & courteous & helpful. We would definitely recommend Grand Pioneers cruise to our friends & family and hope to come back again!!"

"This was a nice, quiet, comfortable and relaxing cruise. The staff was amazing. We did 3days/2 nights and that was enough to see everything around. I wished we did travel more on the larger boat and not the tenders. The smaller boats were not comfortable and usually hot and crowded. The drinks were affordable but definitely the bar service was on the slower side. I would recommend them renaming some of the drinks as well -we wouldn’t have Ben order some because they were name inappropriately but looked good. Food was plentiful and good. Loved the authentic way things were serviced. "

"Excellent service on shore and at sea. Food was decent, a bounty of options and they accommodated my vegetarian diet nicely. Bus transfers from Hanoi very well-managed. Staterooms are comfortable but basic and dated. This is a budget-friendly tour and I was personally happy, but by no means is this a luxury cruise or an high-end experience. The beach and cave excursions had painfully long queues, so I waited by the boat docks for my group to return. The setting is incomparable but under incredible assault from excessive tourism. I counted 37 overnight ships in the bay where we anchored an equal number of day boats and visitors. Plastic garbage floating everywhere, shorelines strewn with rubbish that has washed ashore. A bittersweet experience. Go for it, just temper your expectations. "
